To our JA Bahamas Alum in college — we see you. 💛

The late nights, the pressure, the moments where you question if you’re doing enough… it’s all part of the journey.

But hear this clearly: one exam does not define you. Not your intelligence. Not your future. Not your potential.

You’ve already proven your ability to grow, lead, and push through challenges. This is just another moment — not the final outcome.

Give yourself grace, learn what you can, and keep going.

We’re proud of you. Always.

Not every message is easy — but it’s necessary.

At BahamaJAC, JA Alum Selvin Basden shared real advice with our Achievers about what it takes to grow, lead, and succeed. No shortcuts. Just discipline, consistency, and a willingness to step up.

These are the kinds of conversations that shape futures.

If you’re a JA Alum, there’s a role for you in that journey.

Don’t let summer just happen — plan it with intention. ☀️

Whether it’s budgeting for a family trip, applying for a summer job, or investing in your professional growth, the choices you make now can shape what the next few months look like.

A few things to think about:
• Set a budget before you spend
• Start applying early — opportunities fill quickly
• Invest in skills that move you forward
• Make time for rest and growth

Summer is more than a break — it’s an opportunity.

Behind every journey, there’s someone who believed in you first.

Today, we celebrate the mothers and mother figures who inspire, guide, and support us — through every stage, from classrooms to careers and beyond.

Happy Mother’s Day to the women who help shape who we become.

If you’re in the middle of college exams, here’s a strategy that actually works:

1. Active Recall > Rereading
Don’t just review notes — close them and test yourself. If you can’t explain it, revisit it.

2. Past Papers Are Gold
Focus on how questions are asked. Patterns repeat more than you think.

3. Time-Block Your Sessions
45–60 minutes focused, 10–15 minute break. Repeat. Consistency beats burnout.

4. Prioritize What Moves Your Grade
Not all topics are equal. Identify high-weight areas and focus your energy there.

5. Simulate the Exam
Practice under timed conditions. It builds confidence and reduces exam-day stress.

6. Don’t Sacrifice Sleep
Pulling all-nighters hurts more than it helps. Rest improves memory and recall.

Save this for your next study session.

From JA Achiever to national leadership.

Selvin I. Basden’s journey is a powerful reminder that success is built through discipline, continuous growth, and a willingness to step into opportunity. Today, as Deputy Director of Human Resources, Training & Core Operations at The National Insurance Board, he plays a key role in shaping workforce strategy and operational excellence across The Bahamas.

His story reflects what’s possible when preparation meets purpose — and the lasting impact of the JA experience.

How it started… and what it can become. 🌱

From early exposure to hands-on learning, to building something of your own — the journey doesn’t happen overnight, but it does start somewhere.

JA Bahamas has always been about planting seeds — confidence, curiosity, and the mindset to see opportunity where others don’t.

And over time, those seeds grow into real paths, real businesses, and real impact.

So we’ll ask you…
How has JA Bahamas helped you achieve your dreams?

Life after JA doesn’t follow one path — but the foundation often looks familiar. 🇧🇸

From confidence to communication to connection — the impact of JA doesn’t end with the experience. It shows up in how we lead, how we grow, and how we move forward.

For many of our alumni, those lessons stay with you long after.

So tell us — what did JA teach you? 👇🏽

Advancing voter education is a shared responsibility. 🇧🇸

We’re proud to support initiatives that invite organizations, schools, and community groups to partner in expanding non-partisan voter education across The Bahamas.

ORG Bahamas continues to lead this effort — creating pathways for collaboration, resource sharing, and stronger civic engagement.

If you’re in a position to partner, this is your opportunity to get involved.
