🌟Artist spotlight🌟
Meet 2025 CAF grant recipient Denzel Lightbourne, a multidisciplinary artist and designer from Freeport, Bahamas who uses his work to tell compelling Bahamian stories. As a fine artist, he creates mixed media paintings and drawings that explore folklore, history, and mythological themes, weaving narratives of hope amidst uncertainty. He is also the founder of Spry Avenue, a Bahamian-inspired luxury clothing brand, where he integrates his artistic vision into modern fashion.

“My goal is to inspire connection and curiosity, inviting viewers and wearers alike to see the Bahamas not just as a place, but as a rich tapestry of narratives waiting to be explored.”

✨Last weekend, the Charitable Arts Foundation hosted a very special fundraising event at the newly-renovated Government House, which included a magnificent dinner followed by a dramatic live art auction featuring works from Bahamian contemporary artists.✨

The evening was a huge success, raising over $200,000 which will go directly to supporting Bahamian artists and cultural projects and assisting talented Bahamians pursuing arts subjects abroad.

We would like to thank all those artists who participated by generously donating art works, the musicians who serenaded us on the night, all our guests and art collectors, the CAF events committee and all those who helped organise and contributed to the event, the staff at Government House and, of course, Her Excellency Dame Cynthia Pratt for graciously inviting us into Government House.
