ORG couldn't be more proud to have partnered with The Baha Mar Foundation on The Bahamas' first ever Climate Week! Friday's closing event featured a lineup of talented performers sharing touching, thought-provoking, and transformative pieces that reflected both the reality of our current climate crisis, but also hope for a better, more resilient future.

Ari Wells, ORG's Senior Manager of Outreach, gave a vote of thanks for Baha Mar's support in raising awareness about the effects of climate change and what needs to happen NOW to mitigate them.

ORG's work crosses many intersections, including environmental governance. Over the years we've been able to create spaces for important climate conversations, make sure stakeholders are adequately represented, and advocate for environmental transparency and justice.

Climate Week may be over, but the work has just begun. ORG's role as a facilitator of climate advocacy continues with our soon to be available "Climate Justice Unlocked" program. Stay tuned for more!

Who has access to environmental information — and what happens when reliable information is difficult to find? As part of ORG's "Access to Information Week," we facilitated an environmental roundtable exploring this question. Hosted by Dr. Ancilleno Davis, the conversation brought together perspectives from conservation, academia, journalism, and environmental advocacy, featuring panelists:

Bradley Watson — Director of Conservation & Sustainability Programs, Baha Mar
Nia Cambridge — Human-Environment Geographer & PhD Candidate in Geography
Rachel Scott-Knowles — Journalist, The Nassau Guardian
Elijah Sands — Environmentalist & Consultant

For The Bahamas, access to information is inseparable from environmental governance. As one of the world’s most climate-vulnerable nations, Bahamians need access to accurate, timely, and reliable environmental information to participate meaningfully in decisions that affect our communities, natural resources, and future.
