Today, on the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, Biphobia, and Interphobia (IDAHOBIT), UCTRANS Network stands in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ people across the Caribbean and around the world.

This day is a reminder that every person deserves dignity, safety, equality, and the freedom to live authentically without fear, discrimination, or violence. We honor the resilience of our communities, especially transgender, non-binary, intersex, and gender-diverse people who continue to lead with courage despite ongoing challenges.

UCTRANS Network remains committed to advocating for human rights, healthcare access, mental wellness, visibility, and justice for all LGBTQIA+ people throughout the Caribbean region.

Today, we prepare to celebrate The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (commonly called IDAHOTB) which is observed every year on May 17. celebrate the leadership, courage, and dedication of Alexus D’Marco, Executive Director of UCTRANS, whose work continues to uplift and empower transgender communities across the Caribbean. Through advocacy, mentorship, education, and human rights work, Alexus has become a powerful voice for inclusion, dignity, and equality for transgender people throughout the region.

The fight for justice is never easy, but leaders like Alexus remind us that change is possible when we stand in our truth and refuse to be silenced. Your commitment to creating safer spaces, building community, and advocating for trans rights continues to inspire so many people across the Caribbean and beyond.
