House of Rastafari - Bahamas

House of Rastafari - Bahamas Inter-Mansion Committee The House of Rastafari , a budding organization, emerged in response to the need to coordinate the efforts of national Rastafari family.

It was born out of the need to have the Bahamian population at largely have deeper understanding of who we are and what we represent. It is also felt that through this medium, the Rastafari community can better achieve its goals of the development and advancement of its people; African (black) people specifically and the world generally. Our overall goal is a better people and a better world.

AFRICAN LIBERATION DAY MESSAGE

From the House of Rastafari Inter-Mansion Collective
Nassau, Bahamas

On this African Liberation Day, InI give thanks to the Most High Yah Rastafari and honor the vision, courage, and leadership of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I, whose call for African unity, dignity, self-determination, and repatriation inspired the formation of the Organization of African Unity, now known as the African Union.

His Majesty reminded the world that peace cannot exist where injustice, inequality, and oppression remain. Today, throughout Africa and the African Diaspora, we continue the struggle for liberation not only from colonialism and economic exploitation, but also from fear, division, corruption, violence, and spiritual disconnection.

Here in The Bahamas, we call upon our brothers and sisters to remain calm, conscious, disciplined, and united. Liberation begins with self-control, wisdom, and responsibility.

InI encourage the community to:
• Remain respectful during police interactions;
• Know and understand your constitutional rights;
• Seek proper legal counsel if detained or treated unjustly.

The Rastafari community stands firmly for justice, truth, accountability, and peace. InI reject lawlessness in all forms, whether among citizens or those entrusted with authority. At the same time, we call for fairness, restraint, and respect for the dignity and constitutional rights of all Bahamian people.

As African people and descendants of Africa, we must continue building strong families, strong communities, cooperative economics, food security, cultural education, and spiritual upliftment. Liberation is not merely political; it is mental, economic, agricultural, cultural, and spiritual.

In the spirit of His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, we continue to work toward unity among African peoples at home and abroad, and toward a society rooted in righteousness, justice, equality, and peace.

One Perfect Love, One Aim, One Destiny.

One Africa, One Caribbean, One People.

Greetings House of Rastafari Family,

The House of Rastafari Intermansion Collective is pleased to announce the launch of a Scholarship Assistance Fund for the upcoming school year to support Rastafari youth and the children of our Rastafari community.

Our initial goal is to provide 10 scholarships of $100 each to assist families with back-to-school expenses, uniforms, supplies, registration fees, transportation, and other school-related needs.

We are inviting members, supporters, and well-wishers to contribute to this effort as your heart and mind are willing. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help us invest in the education, upliftment, and future of our children. Please feel free to post your pledge/donation in the group or contact I privately.

This initiative is about community supporting community and ensuring that no child is left behind due to financial hardship.

Further details regarding contributions and the scholarship process will be shared shortly.

Give thanks in advance for your support, unity, and generosity.

One Perfect Love,
The House of Rastafari Intermansion Collective

Food For Thought: "Fed, Entertained… and Forgotten?" — A Call for Justice on Cannabis Reform

"Fed, Entertained… and Forgotten?" — A Call for Justice on Cannabis Reform

There is a strategy as old as power itself:
Keep the people fed. Keep them entertained. And they will never question who truly controls their future.

But today, RASTAFARI we are questioning. Because the history you ignore…
is the history that shapes your behavior. And in this country, we cannot ignore the history of Rastafari, of poor Black Bahamians, of men and women who were criminalized, harassed, jailed, and stigmatized… for the very plant that today sits on the table of “economic opportunity.”

So I ask plainly: What has changed? We hear about a “medicinal cannabis industry.” We hear about “frameworks,” “policies,” “committees.” But the people are still waiting. Waiting for licenses. Waiting for inclusion. Waiting for justice.

And while we wait…
We must ask a deeper question: Who is this industry really being built for? Because we have seen this story before. Foreign corporations arrive. They extract Bahamian resources.
They build billion-dollar empires. And what do the Bahamian people get?
A few jobs… if that.

We say no more.
Why should foreign interests dominate a plant that grew in our soil, that lived in our culture, that our people suffered for?

We demand something simple, something fair, something just:
Ownership.
Access.
Inclusion.
Not tomorrow.
Not after another study.
Not after another election cycle.
Now.

Because the gap between policy and implementation is not just wide— It is dangerous. It breeds distrust. It fuels frustration. And it sends a clear message that promises are being made… without the will to deliver. So we ask the government: Are you building an inclusive cannabis industry? Or are you quietly constructing a system that will once again lock out the very people who laid its foundation?

Are you correcting historical injustice? Or repeating it under a different name? Because the nation is watching. Closely. For clarity. For consistency. For justice.

And let me be clear—this is not just about cannabis. This is about respect. This is about whether the sons and daughters of this soil The Bahamas—especially the Rastafari community—will finally be recognized not as criminals of the past…
…but as partners in the future.

Election is in the air. And this is the moment. A moment for leadership. A moment for courage. A moment to act in favor of the Bahamian people. Not with words. But with implementation. Licenses issued. Barriers removed. Communities empowered.

Because if action does not come before the election…The people will remember.

RASTAFARI (InI) we are no longer distracted. RASTAFARI we are no longer silent. RASTAFARI we are awake. And RASTAFARI we are demanding what is rightfully ours.
