Graduate Spotlight🎓✨: Destiny Neely | Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry

✨What is a positive moment during your University journey that you’ll always remember?

“A positive moment I'll always remember is when I hosted the UB North Soft opening in December 2024. I was honored to be apart of such an event that highlighted the reconstruction of a home (campus) for UB north students. That was a very memorable experience and I was deeply grateful to be involved.”

✨What motivated you to keep going during difficult moments?

“Honestly, my family and close friend’s confidence in me is what kept me motivated during difficult times. I never wanted to let them down and that pressure, which was a good thing, made me push harder even when I wanted to give up.”

✨What does graduating mean to you personally?

“It means to make history. It is a honor to be a first generation graduate and also the first woman in three generations in my family to receive a bachelors degree. This is personal to me and I'm forever grateful to God for giving me strength to never give up.”

Congratulations Destiny! 🥳

Graduate Spotlight🎓✨: Jessica Olince | Bachelor of Arts in Media Journalism with a minor in Tourism Management

✨What is a positive moment during your University journey that you’ll always remember?

“There have been so many positive moments here at UB that it's hard to choose just one. Overall, one of the best experiences has been meeting new people every day and then reconnecting with them years later to see how successful they've become. I also value the long-lasting friendships and connections l've built, not only with fellow students, but also with faculty and staff."

✨What motivated you to keep going during difficult moments?

“The encouragement I receive from the people around me, along with hearing success stories from individuals of different backgrounds who started from the bottom and worked their way to the top, continues to inspire and motivate me."

✨What does graduating mean to you personally?

“It's another chapter I'll soon be closing in the story of my life. I'll finally be able to place that book on the shelf alongside the others and begin a new one. More importantly, it represents me being an example to others, showing that despite the obstacles and boundaries, I was able to finish, and they can too."

Congratulations Jessica! 🥳
