MEET the 1st Place Winners of the Bahamas Scholastic Individual Chess Tournament held on May 23rd and 24th! 👏👏

These remarkable students therefore automatically qualify to represent The Bahamas at the CAC Youth Chess Festival, currently scheduled for November 2026 in . Roughly 40 students from schools across the Bahamas participated in this annual event.

Scenes from our recent Scholastic Chess League Tournaments: Genesis Academy vs Kingsway Academy ✨♟️✨

NEXT UP: May 23 & 24th, students from schools across The Bahamas with gather to compete at the Bahamas Scholastic Indivudual Chess Tournament. Awards will be presented for the best male and female in U8, 10, 12, 14, 16 & 18 categories. This event will also serve as a qualifier for participation in the Junior National Chess Team, scheduled to participate at the CAC Youth Festival which will be held in Costa Rica in November 2026.

The faces of the next generation of young Bahamian chess players!🤩♟️

Thank you to HAZMAC Pharmaceutical Company for generously supporting Yellow Elder Primary School’s participation in the BCF’s Scholastic Chess Pilot Program (Season 2). Learning to play chess at an early age has shown benefits such as improved critical thinking skills, adapting to changing environments and so much more.
