Our August 28th Club Business Meeting was filled with fellowship, laughter and important updates, with Khalil Parker keeping the room entertained as Sergeant.

As we closed out Membership and New Club Development Month, we heard from our Community Service Committee about ongoing and upcoming initiatives. Our Environment Committee also highlighted tomorrow’s Adelaide Beach Cleanup and Picnic, beginning at 7:30 a.m.

We were especially proud to recognize Rotarian Murray Forde for an incredible 44 years of perfect attendance and his longstanding dedication to our club and Rotary around the world.

To wrap up the meeting, our First VP, Valentino Bethell, pulled the lucky Joker and won the 50/50 raffle!

Join us this Saturday at Adelaide Beach for a morning of service, followed by a family picnic.

Beach cleanup: 7:30–10:30 a.m.
Picnic: 10:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring rakes, wheelbarrows, shovels, gloves and reusable water bottles. Compostable trash bags and a small water station will be provided.

After the cleanup, stay for the picnic and bring along your favourite food and snacks. Drinks, tables, chairs and shaded areas will be available.

We look forward to working together to keep our coastline clean.

At our August 21st meeting, Cyd Sergeant made her debut as Sergeant-at-Arms, throwing out some great jokes and generously fining the room along the way.

We celebrated Peter Andrews’ incredible 57th Rotary anniversary, a remarkable milestone reflecting his longstanding commitment to service and fellowship.

A graduate supported by the East Nassau Rotary Club Charitable Trust (ENRCCT) shared his experience after successfully completing his undergraduate degree.

We also welcomed guest speaker Karen Pinder from the Rotary Club of Nassau Sunrise, who led an interactive Membership Lab. Members brainstormed practical ways to improve engagement, strengthen the club experience and bring renewed energy and connection to our Rotary clubs.

Today we had a great Rotary fellowship meeting. 💙

We welcomed new member Chet Nevins, who shared his “About Me” talk, while new member Chris Wells is already making an impact, by becoming a Paul Harris Fellow. ✨

East Nassau Rotary Charirable Trust (ENRCCT) scholarship recipient Kaylee Laroda also updated us on her marketing studies at UB and her upcoming plans to attend university abroad. 🎓

We wrapped up with some fun and friendly competition during Bingo, where Tasman Darling took home the $350 pot! 🎉 In the spirit of service, Tasman generously donated $100 to the East Nassau Rotary Charitable Trust (ENRCCT) and $100 to RCEN’s community service efforts. 🤝

Join us next week Friday for another great meeting!

At our August 7th meeting, interns from the Bahamas National Trust photography course shared a recap of their four-week programme.

They spoke about what they learned about the Bahamian environment and the work of the BNT, along with the practical skills they developed in photography, camera use and photo editing.

Following the presentation, members viewed the interns’ photographs and spoke with them about their work. RCEN is honoured to have played a part in making this experience possible.
