We’re thrilled to welcome three new Board Directors: Shona Perry, Ashley Stipes, and Craig Stipes. We’re grateful for their willingness to serve and excited to have their energy and perspectives on the Friends of Exuma Board.

Shona has spent the past year as General Manager of Grand Isle Resort, following five years in hospitality leadership across the Caribbean. Originally from Dublin, she came to Exuma a year ago and hasn’t looked back.

Ashley and Craig have been coming to Exuma since 2021 and supporting our work as donors along the way. Ashley brings years of community service experience, while Craig brings 25 years of experience in construction, finance, and development.

We’re glad to have their voices at the table and look forward to working together. 💙

📣 Important Update from Exuma Christian Academy!

ECA Exuma Christian Academy is now an official SAT Test Center! Students can take the SAT right here in Exuma — no need to leave the island.

ECA also offers preparation classes for the SAT, BJC & BGCSE. 🤓

From Abaco and St. Croix, young Bahamian sailors are putting their skills and dedication for the sport to the test at the national and international level. As championship season gets underway, let’s rally behind these young athletes and celebrate the hard work it takes to represent The Bahamas on the water and on the world stage. 🌊🇧🇸

What does it mean to invest in young people in Exuma? It means giving bright, ambitious students the opportunity to pursue their dreams in law, piloting, engineering, whatever path they choose.

We spoke with some of this year’s graduates of Exuma Christian Academy to hear what they’re working toward and where they hope their journeys will take them.

With the right support, these young Exumians can take what they’ve learned at home and carry it beyond The Bahamas’ borders. We’re proud to play a small part in helping them get there. 🤍

We’re happy to support another season of this great opportunity for Exumian youth to learn, stay active, and build friendships through tennis. 💚

Open to girls & boys ages 7–17

Whether your child is picking up a racket for the first time or already loves the game, bring them out for a fun morning on the courts! Let’s keep our young people connected and growing through sport. 👟

Back to school season has us reminiscing on a very special day in Exuma. 🎓

We were so proud to celebrate the graduates of Exuma Christian Academy and award scholarships toward their tertiary studies. It was a joy to witness the students reach this milestone.

Exuma Christian Academy continues to do a brilliant job of nurturing grounded, driven young people, and Friends of Exuma is proud to support the school as they invest in the next generation of Exumians.

Congratulations, graduates! We can’t wait to see where you go from here. 🥳

We are so grateful for this affordable transportation option for the summer camp kids…Thank you Barry for being a driver that the parents tell us they trust with their children!

We appreciate your patience with the kids, their pick up needs, our camp schedule, and knowing that parents trust you makes us grateful for your service.

We are ESPECIALLY grateful to Friends of Exuma
for your support so that we could get the children to camp AGAIN this summer! The number of children who relied on this service has grown significantly & this cost comprised nearly 1/4 of our camp budget this year - whew! We are truly SO thankful for your generous funding that allows us to offer free transportation to families as part of our summer learning programs.

Exuma Community Youth Band had another proud moment on the international stage, performing before Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis and distinguished guests at the Bahamas Diaspora Independence Awards Dinner. 🇧🇸

The celebrations continued at the 53rd Independence Service at the Church of the Incarnation, where the band’s powerful performances earned standing ovations. What a moment for these young musicians!

They represented Exuma with talent, discipline, and so much Bahamian pride. 💛🖤💙
