🌸 Something special is BLOOMING! 🌸

As we prepare our young ladies for the 2026/2027 school year, I wanted to do something that goes beyond simply helping with school expenses. I want to challenge our girls to think, lead, problem-solve and recognize that their ideas have the power to create change.

Through Bloom by Chevonia McBride, powered by Sisters of Strength Bahamas, I am excited to offer a Student Grant of up to $500 to one deserving Bahamian high school girl in Grades 7–12 attending school on Grand Bahama Island. πŸ’•πŸ“š

But there’s a twist! πŸ’‘

Applicants must submit a 500–750 word essay identifying a real need or challenge within their school or community, propose a practical solution, and explain how that solution could be implemented during this academic year.

I want our girls to understand that leadership isn't reserved for adults. You are never too young to identify a problem, develop a solution and make a difference.

✨ Submissions are NOW OPEN!
πŸ“… Submissions Close: August 26, 2026
πŸ† Winner Announced: August 28, 2026

Parents, teachers, guidance counsellors, mentors, family and friends β€” please share this opportunity and encourage a young lady to apply!

Your idea. Your voice. Your impact.
The future is yours to BLOOM! 🌸

Be Bold. Be Beautiful. Be You! πŸ’•

πŸŽ‰βœ¨ CELEBRATING 13 YEARS OF SISTERS OF STRENGTH BAHAMAS! βœ¨πŸŽ‰

Today, we proudly celebrate thirteen incredible years of empowering girls, building leaders, and transforming lives.

What began as a vision to inspire young women to recognize their worth and reach their full potential has grown into a movement of mentorship, leadership, sisterhood, service, and empowerment.

Over the past 13 years, we have witnessed young girls become confident leaders, community advocates, entrepreneurs, scholars, and role models. Through every workshop, mentoring session, service project, and life lesson, we have remained committed to helping girls discover the strength that already exists within them.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to our mentors, volunteers, parents, sponsors, partners, and every young lady who has been part of the Sisters of Strength family. Your support has helped us build a legacy that continues to impact generations.

As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to continuing our mission of empowering girls, strengthening families, and transforming communities throughout The Bahamas.

πŸ’œ Here's to 13 years of purpose, passion, and impactβ€”and many more to come!

All around the world, girls are stepping up to meet today’s biggest challenges. They are organizing in their communities, fighting for climate justice, demanding an end to violence and reimagining their futures. Girls are asking to be seen, not only for the challenges they face, but for who they are and the solutions they bring. Yet, too often, their voices go unheard, their actions ignored, and their needs and rights pushed aside.

As we mark this convention of 30 years, on this International Day of The Girl, under the theme β€˜The girl I am, the change I lead: Girls on the frontlines of crisis,' Sisters of Strength Bahamas:

- stands with girls and support their leadership;
- reminds girls that their voice matters too;
- reminds girls that we see, who they truly are; and
- we recognize your limitless potential.

When we invest in girls, we create a more equal, just and hopeful world - for everyone.

Sisters of Strength Bahamas supports girls throughout the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

Today Sisters of Strength Bahamas celebrates 9 years of service and mentorship to our girls and young women in the Grand Bahama community.

We continue to celebrate our young women and their efforts of setting high aspirations, discovering their God-given potential, gifts, self-worth, and developing their capacity to shape their own world. We will continue to be your Sisters of Strength by offering you a positive, reliable, honest, and consistent female support system and guidance. We do this in an effort with assisting you from avoiding the common dangers of being without a voice, purpose, and professional presence within our society.

Thank you to all of our mentors, directors, parents, guest speakers and sponsors over the past 9 years and we look forward to strengthening our relationship for years to come.
