The Grand Bahama Children’s Home was opened in 1980, to help care for children who needed to be removed from their families for reasons of abandonment, abuse or neglect. The Home is partially funded by the Bahamian government, however the subsidies do not nearly cover the costs associated with housing, feeding, and nurturing these children. The Friends of Grand Bahama Children's Home are a group o
f dedicated volunteers who are committed to helping make sure that the needs of the children at the Home are met. We raise funds to buy food so that they won't go hungry. We buy diapers and school supplies, Christmas presents, birthday presents, and surprise treats, to show them they are loved and appreciated. We paint murals to brighten their playrooms, and help renovate their living spaces to make them feel special. We also organize to spend time with the children; play with them, help them with homework. The Friends of the Grand Bahama Children's Home know that every child is important, and every child should feel important. It takes a village to raise a child, and these children need our village. They need the entire community to help them grow into their full potential. 100% of all profits raised goes directly into the care and nurturing of these beautiful kids who have found themselves at the Home through no fault of their own. We encourage everyone to join us, support us, and help give them hope for a brighter future.
