Beta Alpha Mu Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

A Community-conscious, action oriented organization. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded January 16, 1920, at Howard University, Washington, D.C.

Five coeds women envisioned a sorority which would directly affect positive change, chart a course of action for the 1920s and beyond, raise consciousness of their people, encourage the highest standards of scholastic achievement, and foster a greater sense of unity among its members. These women believed that sorority elitism and socializing overshadowed the real mission for progressive organizat

ions and failed to address fully the societal mores, ills, prejudices, and poverty affecting humanity in general and the black community in particular. Since its inception, Zeta has continued its steady climb into the national spotlight with programs designed to demonstrate concern for the human condition both nationally and internationally. The organization has been innovative in that it has chronicled a number of firsts. It was the first National Pan-Hellenic Council organization to centralize its operations in a national headquarters, first to charter a chapter in Africa, first to form auxiliary groups, and first to be constitutionally bound to a fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. The sorority takes pride in its continued participation in transforming communities through volunteer services from members and its auxiliaries. Zeta Phi Beta has chartered hundreds of chapters worldwide and has a membership of 100,000+. Zeta‘s national and local programs include the endowment of its National Educational Foundation community outreach services and support of multiple affiliate organizations. Zeta chapters and auxiliaries have given untotaled hours of voluntary service to educate the public, assist youth, provide scholarships, support organized charities, and promote legislation for social and civic change. Last Saturday, the ladies of Beta Alpha Mu Zeta were recognized by the Ministry of Tourism Grand Bahama for our commitment and dedication to partnering each year at the International Coastal Cleanup.

Each year, on the third Saturday of September, we join other like-minded individuals and organizations in cleaning our coastal areas. Thank you to the Ministry of Tourism, and we look forward to our continued partnership.

In this small act of wearing orange, we're able to start the conversation to bringing awareness to the mental health of those in need and the support needed for persons affected by su***de in our communities.

As everyone moves back to the classroom tomorrow, we would like to highlight two recent graduates from our Adopted School, Hugh Campbell Primary School.

Each year, the Beta Alpha Mu Zeta Chapter presents an award, the Z.E.A.L. (Zealous Empowered Authentic Leadership) Award, to a 6th grade female student at Hugh Campbell that exemplifies these qualities.
This year's ZEAL Award recipient is Saniya Rahming (pictured first).

We also provide a book grant to a female student in need of assistance as they continue on to their high school education. By expressing their importance of books and learning, one applicant is chosen and rewarded with a book grant to Bethel's Bookstore.
This year's Book Grant recipient is Diamond Knowles (pictured second).

We wish both girls and all teachers and students a successful 2025-2026 school year! 📚😁👍🏾

It’s that time again, the discounted reclamation period will begin July 1st through September 30th. The theme this year is “Rekindle Your Love, Renew Your Zeal!”No matter how long you’ve been away, “The Time is Now” to come back home!
