BAHAMAS MARINE FORECAST

MARINE FORECASTS FOR THE BAHAMAS FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY AT 6:00 A.M. EST, Tuesday, February 25, 2025. THE NEXT SCHEDULED FORECAST WILL BE ISSUED AT 12:00 P.M. EST.

WARNINGS: A gale warning (34 – 47 knots) is in effect for the area waters of the Northwest Bahamas until 12pm, and will last until 6pm in the Central Bahamas. A near gale warning (28 – 33 knots) is in effect for the area waters of Abaco until 8pm.

Small craft operators are to remain in port, and beachgoers are strongly discouraged to enter the waters in these area waters until further notice from the Bahamas Department of Meteorology. Other weather related hazards, such as lightning, hail and waterspouts may also be experienced.

Due to the upcoming New Moon cycle, boaters are urged to exercise extreme caution while traversing in shallow waters due to the increased risk of vessels running aground.

Maritime conditions will gradually improve after the frontal passage across the waters of the Northern and Northwest Bahamas, as the front treks further southeastward.
