The 2026 Opti Nationals was a success!
We would to like to congratulate all 64 of our young sailors. Every final position deserves applause. Every single sailor worked hard, competed with heart, and enjoyed a wonderful weekend of sailing. We are so proud of each and every one of you.
To our Race Committee — we are extremely grateful. You worked together flawlessly, and every race ran without a hitch. Thank you for giving your time, passion, experience, and dedication to youth sailing. Bahamas Sailing Association

Our prayers for good weather were certainly heard. We could not have asked for two better days of racing conditions, and we are incredibly thankful.
To the Hon. Mario Bowleg, Minister of Youth & Sports— I want to personally thank you for coming to experience the regatta with us, for your support in helping elevate this event, and for your continued commitment to growing and improving opportunities in sailing throughout The Bahamas. To the Abaco Rage Crew. You all were a tremendous help and support this weekend. Your support for Youth Sailors is most commendable, these are your future crewmates/competition, and the next generation of Sailors; Thank you for leading the way.
And last, but certainly not least, to our Hope Town community — as with every youth program I have ever been involved with, this community always rises to the occasion, and this weekend was no exception.
So many of you helped in so many different ways. To our local sponsors, helpers and volunteers, spectators, families, and everyone cheering us on both in person and online — we are deeply grateful.
As we like to say, it takes a village, and we are incredibly fortunate to have one of the very best.
