Last night’s meeting marked the launch of a meaningful new initiative in celebration of Earth Month, “Serving Our Community, Sustaining Our Future.”

Members and prospective members came together to plant seeds of herbs and vegetables, which we will nurture and grow into seedlings. Once matured, each participant will keep one and share one with someone in the community, spreading both sustainability and service.

This initiative will also extend to our SLP schools, allowing us to further inspire and educate our youth while making a lasting impact.

On Friday March 20th, the Kiwanis Club of Lucaya, along with the Key Club of Jack Hayward Senior High School, proudly hosted our “Rock Your Socks” Waffle Day at the Beacon School, bringing together students, educators, and families in a joyful celebration of inclusion, kindness, and service.

As we celebrated World Down Syndrome Awareness Day, we wore our mismatched socks as a symbol of embracing differences and promoting acceptance for all children. The morning was filled with laughter, connection, and meaningful moments that truly highlighted the spirit of community.

The event featured a warm, fluffy waffle breakfast, a lively sock parade, and the distribution of fidget spinners, tattoos, and armbands. It was incredibly special to see the smiles on the children’s and faculty’s faces—proof that something as simple as sharing waffles can create lasting joy and impact 💙🧦
