BAL Conch population updates:

- 100,000 Queen Conch Veligers: These 11 day old veligers came all the way from West End thanks to one of our local fisherman friends.

- 37 Newly metamorphosed Queen Conch: These babies are 53 days old and thriving thanks to our hard working Aquaculture Technicians.

With every new batch, we’re one step closer to restoring and strengthening Queen Conch populations in Grand Bahama.

From tiny veligers to newly metamorphosed juveniles, it’s amazing to watch the next generation of Queen Conch grow right before our eyes.

Stay tuned for more updates from the hatchery as these little ones continue their journey!

Blue Action Lab mourns the loss of Keith Cooper, our local stingray whisperer and a true pillar of Grand Bahama’s Blue Economy and ecotourism community.

Keith was more than a colleague. He was a mentor, a friend, and someone whose passion for our ocean and its wildlife was impossible to miss. His knowledge, generosity, and connection to the stingrays touched so many lives, both in our community and beyond.

We are sending our deepest love and support to Keith’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him during this difficult time.

Keith, we hope you’re somewhere out there still swimming with the rays.

Take your rest, Keith. Your legacy will continue to ripple through the waters and the people you inspired.

Here’s our Jr. EcoPreneur Internship Recap!

4 weeks.
3 interns
1 incredible learning experience

Through our partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture’s Summer Job Placement Programme, we had the opportunity to mentor three young Bahamians and introduce them to the exciting possibilities within the Blue Economy.

Throughout the programme, our interns gained hands-on experience in marine species identification, data collection and analysis, and basic aquaculture. They also got their feet wet in entrepreneurship, developing their own Blue Economy business ideas and business plans.

From marine science to entrepreneurship, we’re helping young people build the skills, knowledge and confidence to see themselves as part of the future of The Bahamas’ Blue Economy.

A huge thank you to Bahamas Marine Mammal Res Org Friends Of The Environment Waterkeepers Bahamas Coral Vita Bonefish & Tarpon Trust (BTT) & Bahamas National Trust for your support of this program!

Today, we celebrate the resilience, culture, and incredible potential of our nation. As a proudly Bahamian company, Blue Action Lab is committed to building a thriving blue economy that creates opportunities for Bahamians while protecting the natural resources that define our islands.

By investing in innovative conservation, we’re helping strengthen food security, support future livelihoods, and build a more resilient Bahamas.

Here’s to 53 years of independence and a future where our people, oceans, and economy continue to thrive together.

The ocean is at the heart of life in The Bahamas.

With more than 95% of our country covered by ocean, healthy marine ecosystems are vital to our communities, economy, and future.

At Blue Action, we believe that ocean protection requires action. Through conservation, education, and innovation, we help create lasting benefits for both people and nature.

This World Oceans Day, we celebrate everyone working to advance a sustainable Blue Economy and ensure thriving oceans and communities for generations to come.

COMMUNITY DAY NEW DATE: October 24th, 2026

Due to ongoing construction at Conservation Cove, we have made the decision to postpone Community Day to October 24, 2026, to ensure the best possible experience for attendees, partners, vendors, and volunteers.

As this is a fully outdoor event, moving to October will also help us avoid the extreme summer heat and the peak of hurricane season.

We know many of you were looking forward to the original date, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and continued support.

The additional time will allow us to further prepare for a meaningful day focused on conservation, community engagement, environmental education, and celebrating the Blue Economy in The Bahamas.

Thank you for growing with us. We look forward to seeing you on October 24!
