And That's A Wrap!!
Actually, it's a screw ball; and a few nutty buddy's, a whole lot of ice cream sandwiches and.. you get the picture.
Special Olympics Bahamas athletes and coaches (Nrw Providence) closed out their training seasons for a much needed summer break this past Saturday - June/13, and what a surprise ending. Along with the usual fun games, drinks and pizza, who showed up? The "ICE CREAM MAN". Nothing like your favorite ice cream treat to close out six months of running, jumping, throwing and rolling.
Thank You to everyone who supported our athletes and our programme for the first half of 2026.
NEXT UP? Our Annual Raffle/Grill/Fun Day Fund Raiser - August/15 at Stapledon School grounds.
ATAY TUNED?

Hand shakes and hearty congratulations all around summed up Special Olympics Bahamas 2026 National Bocce Championships, which were held May 1st and 2nd at Stapledon School grounds.
Teams from Abaco, Grand Bahama and New Providence participated in Doubles and Teams competition over the 2 day period which saw the New Providence athletes walk away with a clean sweep, claiming GOLD in both Division A and Division B Doubles competition, as well as claiming the top spot in the Teams competition.
Special Olympics Bahamas Sports Director Johnneice Blyden assessed the exciting 2 day event as being "fair and challenging" with the level of play at the National Level continuing to be outstanding. This is very encouraging as Special Olympics Bahamas is preparing it's athletes to compete at the 2027 Special Olympics World Games, which are set to be held in Santiago, Chile.
Program Board Chair Nicole DeNardin Russell has indicated it's plans to "beef up our world games sponsorship drive" and is encouraging businesses (and individuals) to "consider sponsoring an athlete".
