The LATS introduces its new publication format.

To facilitate content identification, we have adopted a specific visual and editorial structure for each audience. Posts featuring a blue color palette, blue icons, and accessible language are intended for the general public, focusing on evidence-based information about thyroid function, prevention, and the most prevalent disorders.

Posts featuring a green color palette, green icons, and technical language are directed toward physicians and healthcare professionals, offering scientific depth, discussion of evidence, guidelines, and clinical updates.

This standardization strengthens scientific communication, expands access to high-quality information, and reinforces LATS’ commitment to continuing medical education and to the promotion of evidence-based thyroid health.

The history of LATS is also shaped by the strength and dedication of many women.

Over the years, many of them have served as presidents, leaders, and key contributors in different areas, helping to build and strengthen the institution with sensitivity and a vision for the future.

They are also women who dedicate their careers to research and studies on the thyroid, expanding scientific knowledge and contributing to improving diagnosis, treatment, and patient care throughout Latin America.

On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate these journeys that inspire and transform, and that show every day the importance of women’s presence in science, leadership, and in building a more humane medicine.

LATS is proud to have so many women writing fundamental chapters of its history.

Dr. Celia Regina Nogueira de Camargo, current president of the LATS, introduces the Society’s new publication format.

The proposal organizes content into two strategic streams: technical and scientific materials directed toward physicians and healthcare professionals, with in-depth discussion of evidence, guidelines, and updates in thyroidology, and content designed for the general public, presented in clear language and grounded in scientific evidence, aimed at clarifying common questions about thyroid function and its most prevalent disorders.

This initiative reinforces LATS’ commitment to continuing medical education while also expanding access to reliable information for the broader community, strengthening responsible scientific communication and combating misinformation in thyroid health.
