The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) will offer institutional space for Brazilian companies at Fine Food Australia 2026, one of the leading food industry trade fairs in the Asia-Pacific region, taking place in Melbourne from 31 August to 3 September 2026. A great morning in Sydney 🇦🇺🤝🇧🇷

On 15 April, we hosted our ABCC Members’ Breakfast, bringing together leaders from across the Australia–Brazil community.

Thank you to Squire Patton Boggs for hosting us, and to everyone who joined.

We were honoured to welcome Gabrielle Hall, who will soon take on her role as Australian Consul-General in São Paulo, and grateful to also have the Consul-General of Brazil, Ambassador Jorge Kadri, with us sharing a few words.

Proudly joined by our ABCC leadership — Eduardo Possato, Chris Ellis (VP NSW) and Valeria Noleto (CEO) — alongside valued members including Primo Foods leaders and our broader community.

If you’d like to be part of conversations and connections like these, we’d love to welcome you to the ABCC community.

🇧🇷As we prepare to mark 5 years of Brazil Week, we take a moment to look back at where it all began — and how far we’ve come.

In 2022, we launched Brazil Week in Brisbane with a vision: to create a platform that would bring Australia and Brazil closer through business, culture, and meaningful connections.

That first opening night remains unforgettable.

We were honoured to welcome our beloved Brazilian actor Nelson Freitas, who brought incredible energy to the stage, performing alongside Anje West and her band — pioneers of bossa nova in Queensland. It was a moment that beautifully symbolised the cultural bridge we set out to build.

We were also deeply honoured by the presence of the Governor of Queensland. At the time, everything felt big — and new. We were excited, proud… and yes, a little nervous.

But that’s how meaningful journeys begin.

Five years on, Brazil Week has grown into a national platform, connecting leaders, industries, and communities across Australia and Brazil.

And while we honour the past, we don’t live in it.

We carry it forward.

Because Brazil Week has always been about building — building relationships, building opportunities, and shaping the future of the Australia–Brazil connection.

As we celebrate this milestone, we look ahead with even greater ambition.

This is just the beginning.

We were delighted to bring together our ABCC members and special guests for an evening of connection and conversation with Gabrielle Hall, Australia’s incoming Consul-General and Trade & Investment Commissioner to São Paulo.

Among those in attendance were Jon Krause MP, Justin McGowan (CEO of TIQ), along with representatives from WEG, JBS, Minerva Foods, and Embraer, amongst others.

A sincere thank you to our hosts, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, for supporting this important moment for our community.

As ABCC continues to expand its presence in Brazil, including through our director based in São Paulo, Thomas Skinner, we are strengthening on-the-ground connections and creating new pathways for engagement across both markets.

If you would like to be part of this network and attend events like this, we warmly invite you to join us as a member.

Sydney next.
