In Jardim Gramacho hebben 20 kinderen van 3–5 jaar nu een veilige plek om te groeien, te spelen en te leren bij Espaço Colibri, een project van Cheifa - Central Humana de Educação, Ideias e Formação Alternativa , gesteund door Arracê 🌱💛.

Velen werden niet geselecteerd in de publieke loterij die toegang geeft tot school, maar dit initiatief zorgt ervoor dat elk kind kan ontdekken, lachen en verzorgd worden.

In een gemeenschap, die ontstaan is rond de grootste vuilnisbelt van Zuid-Amerika, waar armoede en afval nog steeds het dagelijks leven bepalen, hebben deze kinderen nu de kans om zich te ontwikkelen.

Door spel, muziek, gezinsmomenten en studie, wordt hun potentieel elke dag gekoesterd en gestimuleerd.

No Jardim Gramacho, 20 crianças de 3 a 5 anos agora têm um espaço seguro para crescer, brincar e aprender no Espaço Colibri, um projeto da Pamen Cheifa, apoiado pela Arracê 🌱💛.

Muitas não foram sorteadas na loteria pública que dá acesso à escola, mas esta iniciativa garante que cada criança possa explorar, sorrir e ser cuidada.

Em uma comunidade que se desenvolveu em torno do maior lixão da América Latina, onde a pobreza e o lixo ainda moldam a vida cotidiana, essas crianças agora têm a chance de prosperar.

Através de jogos, música, momentos familiares e aprendizado, seu potencial é desenvolvido todos os dias.

In Jardim Gramacho, 20 children aged 3–5 now have a safe space to grow, play, and learn at Espaço Colibri, a project by Pamen Cheifa, supported by Arracê 🌱💛.

Many were not selected by the public lottery that grants access to school, but this initiative ensures every child can explore, laugh, and be cared for.

In a community that grew around South America's largest landfill, where poverty and waste still shape daily life, these children now have a chance to thrive.

Through games, music, family moments, and learning, their potential is nurtured every day.

EN - Arracê visit to the indigenous Guarani community: Mata Bonita Verde, natural reserve of the Maricá municipality

The small school for cultural education (with lessons in the authentic Guaraní language) was visited, along with the traditional sacred house, where a dance and singing choir with children and teenagers functions alongside indigenous rituals.

Both the cultural school and the dance group are meaningful projects of the indigenous village, providing opportunities for a new generation of indigenous children and teenagers to develop their rights and become the cultural ambassadors of the village. Environmental education is also central to the youth’s collective education: this new generation will help protect nature and combat global warming.

We hope to have the opportunity in a near future to support the youth in this community via our activities.

POR - Visita do Arracê à comunidade indígena Guarani: Mata Bonita Verde, reserva natural do município de Maricá

A pequena escola de educação cultural (com aulas no autêntico idioma guarani) foi visitada, juntamente com a tradicional casa sagrada, onde um coral de dança e canto com crianças e adolescentes funciona junto com os rituais indígenas.

Tanto a escola cultural quanto o grupo de dança são projetos significativos da aldeia indígena, oferecendo oportunidades para uma nova geração de crianças e adolescentes indígenas desenvolverem seus direitos e se tornarem embaixadores culturais da aldeia. A educação ambiental também é fundamental para a educação coletiva dos jovens: essa nova geração ajudará a proteger a natureza e a combater o aquecimento global.

Esperamos ter a oportunidade, em um futuro próximo, de apoiar os jovens dessa comunidade por meio de nossas atividades.

EN - A Window with a View: Colours of the Favelas in Jardim Sydney and Jardim Paris

Basic needs like sanitation and clean water remain urgent, however community art projects also play a meaningful role. Beyond aesthetics, they uplift morale, support mental health, and improve daily life. These colourful accents can be seen not only as symbols of growing social acceptance but also as catalysts for change.

As necessidades básicas, como saneamento e água potável, continuam sendo urgentes, mas os projetos de arte comunitária também desempenham um papel significativo. Esses detalhes coloridos podem ser vistos não apenas como símbolos da crescente aceitação social, mas também como catalisadores de mudanças.
