After 4 days of exciting racing, challenging conditions, and great competition, it’s time to celebrate another fantastic championship. ⛵💨

👏 Congratulations to all athletes, families, organizers, sponsors, and volunteers who helped make this event such a success. Your passion and dedication are what make Formula Windsurfing so special!

🌊⛵ Another fantastic day at the European Formula Windsurfing Championship in Lagos 🇵🇹!

Two challenging races were completed in strong and gusty winds 💨, testing every sailor’s speed, technique, and tactical skills. The third race was cancelled as gusts exceeded 30 knots, bringing an exciting day on the water to a close.

👏 A huge thank you to Vasco Chaveca and the entire organizing team for delivering a world-class event both on and off the water.

🔥 Tomorrow is the final day of racing, with the Long Distance race set to decide the last battles on the leaderboard.

Day 1 delivered strong conditions with winds of 17–25 knots 💨 and three demanding races where strength, technique, and tactics made all the difference.

RACE FORMAT 🏁

The European Championships will be held as an open entry racing event, bringing together competitors from across Europe to compete on the water.

Age divisions will race within their respective gender divisions, while men and women may race separately depending on the number of entries.

The competition will consist of a maximum of 5 races per day, with up to 15 races in the full series.

A minimum of three races is required to validate the event.

If conditions allow, one of the days will feature a special Long Distance Race – a challenging and exciting addition to the championship! 🌊💨

From 22–26 July 2026, the best Formula Foil riders will compete in exciting races on the beautiful Adriatic coast 🌊

Competitors can register online before 16 July 2026 or during registration at the event venue. The entry fee is lower for sailors who register before 15 June 2026 🧷📩

The European Championships are not only about great racing on the water, but also about competing for prestigious titles. 🏆

During the event, the 2026 Formula Windsurfing Fin European Champions in both the men’s and women’s categories will be crowned, along with the best riders in the youth and master divisions. The top three competitors in each properly constituted division will also be awarded.

Sailors from across Europe will meet to compete for the titles and prove themselves on the racecourse.

Lagos, Portugal from 3–7 June.
