Today during our morning devotion, after sharing that we are enough, my daughter asked me a question:
“Mummy, why is it that we are important in God’s eyes, but people don’t see us as important?”
I had to pause…
I had to think again .
I realized from her words that she’s already beginning to notice people’s behavior and trying to make sense of her worth.
And honestly… don’t we all do this?
At some point, we’ve all tried to measure our value based on:
how people treat us
how they respond to us
whether they choose us or overlook us
Because the truth is, it’s not always easy to find people who love and value you just for being you, not for your title, not for what you can offer, not for what they can gain.
We live in a world where many relationships are built on benefit.
And because of that, many people have learned to wear masks.
They tell themselves: “If I show the real me, I may not be accepted.” “If I’m not this version of myself, I may not be loved.”
So we perform.
We compare.
We hide.
And slowly, authenticity becomes rare.
This has led to so much: comparison, insecurity, emotional struggles, even depression…
But that question my daughter asked… it’s one many hearts are quietly asking.
And the answer I gave her…
I’ll be sharing that in my next post 💛
