It is wonderful to hear about the annual local events in the Funil Xerente community.

Participating in these traditions and cultural activities from a young age is a great way for her to connect with her heritage and understand the importance of these events.

Even though she might be too young to actively participate in the events, being present and witnessing them can still play a significant role in shaping her cultural identity and sense of belonging within the community.

É maravilhoso saber sobre os eventos locais anuais na comunidade Funil Xerente.

Participar dessas tradições e atividades culturais desde tenra idade é uma ótima maneira para ela se conectar com sua herança e compreender a importância desses eventos.

Mesmo que ela seja jovem demais para participar ativamente das atividades, estar presente e testemunhá-las ainda pode desempenhar um papel significativo na formação de sua identidade cultural e senso de pertencimento dentro da comunidade.

These are paintings done at Cemix, a middle and high school for the Xerente kids.
These show the different Klan's that are represented by the Xerente communities.
Each one is painted on to one’s body before any major ceremony or events that take place among groups Uniting.
It is a complex selection process done in a way to maintain harmony and equilibrium among the Xerente people.
As parts of your family must belong to different Klans, you’re always happy in competition, even when you lose, since family members are in the competing Klans.

Estas são pinturas feitas na Cemix, uma escola de ensino fundamental e médio para as crianças Xerente.
Elas representam os diferentes Clãs que são representados pelas Comunidades Xerente.
Cada uma é pintada no corpo antes de qualquer cerimônia importante ou eventos que ocorram entre grupos que se unem.
É um processo de seleção complexo realizado de maneira a manter a harmonia e o equilíbrio entre o povo Xerente.
Como partes de sua família devem pertencer a diferentes Clãs, você está sempre feliz na competição, mesmo quando perde, já que tem membros da família nos Clãs concorrentes.

This is what the harvest season for Acai and Brazil nuts looks like.

It is the main source of income for many communities in the Amazon.

What must be changed is the price they get for their work and risks.

A Kilo of Brazil Nuts in the forest is worth less than US$ 0.6 (R$ 35 to R$ 70.0/can).

At a supermarket in the US or Europe it reaches over US$ 40.0.

Nemus is working on changing this reality

Aqui está como é a temporada de colheita do Açaí e das Castanhas-do-Brasil.

É a principal fonte de renda para muitas comunidades na Amazônia.

O que precisa mudar é o preço que eles recebem pelo seu trabalho e riscos.

Um quilo de Castanhas-do-Brasil na floresta vale menos de US$ 0.6 (R$ 35.0 a R$ 70.0/lata). Em um supermercado nos EUA ou Europa, chega a mais de US$ 40,00.

A Nemus está trabalhando para mudar essa realidade.

Every year the indigenous groups meet and partake in sporting events that they call the Olympics!

Some of the events include bow and arrow target practice, running a relay race, and carrying a 100kilo log for over 1km.

Nemus team members were invited to participate in some of their activities!

Todo ano os grupos indígenas Xerentes se encontram para participar de eventos esportivos chamados de Olimpíadas.

Alguns desses eventos incluem arco e flecha, corrida de revezamento com vara, e carregamento de toras de mais de 100 kg numa distancia de 1km.

Alguns membros da Equipe Nemus foram convidados a participar dessas atividades.

Chegou a vez da Aldeia FUNIL e o Cacique Elson e a mulher Aparecida.

Nemus está iniciando um trabalho de parceria com esta comunidade, uma das maiores dos Xerentes com mais de 300 habitantes, e onde irá ocorrer no mês que vem um mega evento esportivo.

Depois de várias visitas a aldeia após convite do Cacique, definimos juntos algumas necessidades básicas urgentes.

Com estudos adicionais, nas próximas semanas vamos poder focar nos próximos passos e iniciar a implantação.

Manteremos a comunidade informada pois já tem boas ações a caminho.

It's now the turn of FUNIL Village and Chief Elson and his wife Aparecida.

Nemus is starting a partnership with this community, one of the largest among the Xerente people with over 300 inhabitants, and where a mega sports event will take place next month.

After several visits to the village upon the Chief's invitation, we have together identified some urgent basic needs.

With further studies, in the upcoming weeks, we will be able to focus on the next steps and begin implementation.

We will keep the community informed as there are already positive actions on the way.

O que me fez definitivamente a entrar no time da nemus foi dentro dos meus princípios de como enxergo a vida.

Fazer o bem sempre usando tecnologia e pessoas competentes. Com isso deixar um para as gerações que virão.

Um projeto que se tornou realidade só me fez ter a certeza de que temos como proporcionar um futuro melhor.

Fazendo preservação e conservação dos ecossistemas.

What definitely made me join the nemus team was within my principles of how I see life.

Always doing good using technology and competent people. In doing so, leave a legacy for generations to come.

A project that came true only made me certain that we can provide a better future.

Aldeia Suprawaha e o Cacique Edivaldo e a mulher Valnice. Nemus está iniciando um trabalho de parceria com esta comunidade que sempre nos recebeu de braços abertos. Depois de várias reuniões definindo prioridades, pesquisa e avaliações, esperamos sucesso nesta empreitada. Vamos manter a comunidade informada pois já tem novidades concretas a caminho.

Suprawaha village with Chief Edivaldo and his wife Valnice. Nemus is starting a true partnership with this community that has always received us with open arms. After several meetings defining priorities, researching and evaluation, we wish for the greatest success in this venture. We will maintain the community informed since there already are concrete surprises on the way.
