The Seed Co-operative 🌱, based in Lincolnshire 🌍, is cultivating a thriving agroecological food system rooted in health, resilience, and equity, championing open-pollinated seeds that regenerate soil, protect biodiversity, and strengthen food sovereignty 🌾. Since 2014, this Community Benefit Society revitalized Gosberton Bank Nursery into a hub for agroecological seed production, research, and education, achieving organic certification in 2018 and embracing permacultural principles of self-reliance and community resilience 🐝. By rejecting industrial seed biotechnology and corporate control, they foster ecological harmony, sustainability, and a deep connection to the land, empowering growers to save, share, and adapt seeds year after year 🌻. Their work is a living example of agroforestry ideals, integrating diversity of genetics, knowledge, and ecosystems to build a just, regenerative food future 🌲✨.

🌱 Agroecology is not only about combining crops. It is also about people, access, knowledge, labor, cooperation, and the decisions communities make together.

Agroecology Map Game brings these social and political dimensions into its quests without turning the game into a complicated political simulation.

🌾 In Seeds in Common, players contribute to a Community Seed Bank, follow the origin of seed lots, protect a shared reserve, and access another variety without requiring an immediate one-for-one trade.

💧 Watershed activities connect soil cover and water care with shared observation and community infrastructure.

🤝 Market, barter, donation, order, and seed-exchange quests show that not every exchange has the same purpose. Quantities, time, labor, commitments, and community use remain visible.

🍲 Food-processing and shared-meal activities connect harvests with preservation, seasonal availability, cooperation, and access to food.

🛠️ Collective projects require materials, labor, prior community work, and clear agreements. Their results become visible in the village and nursery instead of appearing as abstract rewards.

🗣️ Eight community members bring different experiences to conversations, missions, and seasonal gatherings. Knowledge is shared through relationships and practical work, not delivered as a single universal answer.

The political dimension appears in everyday questions: Who has access to seeds? What should remain in a shared reserve? How is work divided? What is sold, exchanged, donated, stored, or shared? Which projects does the community maintain for the future?

The game does not judge these actions with one morality or sustainability score. Players see separate consequences involving land, resources, relationships, agreements, time, labor, and collective work. At the Year-end Reflection Circle, those experiences remain distinct rather than becoming one final grade. 🌍

We want Agroecology Map Game to be enjoyable and approachable while showing that ecological diversity and social organization are connected. Which community decisions or social dimensions of Agroecology would you like to encounter in a quest? 💚
