📣 Young people of the Asia-Pacific: Raise your voice in advance of the 9th UN ESCAP CED!

LCOY 2026 applications are now open.

Local Conferences of Youth are where national youth climate agendas take shape. Youth-led, locally grounded, and designed to turn shared challenges into collective action.

Each LCOY also feeds directly into the Global Conference of Youth, ensuring national priorities and lived realities help shape the global youth climate voice through the Global Youth Statement.

What appears on screen is only the final layer. Behind it are young people facing logistical challenges, balancing studies, work, and advocacy while coordinating across continents.

We work hard, and we make space to laugh, connect, and recharge together. This is a behind-the-scenes look at the YOUNGO Communications Unit.

As the year closes, we carry these moments forward. Looking ahead to 2026, YOUNGO marks 15 years as a constituency and we are equally excited to co-create another impactful year of storytelling and coverage with all of you!

This year’s COP asked a lot from young people. For many, just being there already meant overcoming real barriers.

A look back at those who stayed, participated, and kept showing up. This is YOUNGO.

There are years when the size of a delegation does not reflect the strength of its work. This was one of them.

Since the rebuilding of YOUNGO’s digital presence in 2020, this has been our smallest team on the ground. Yet the work did not slow. It held together because every person here, alumni and current, carried more than their share, and because the mission mattered enough to push past limited capacity, long shifts, and the many gaps youth teams face every cycle.

Our group photo is a record of a year where a handful of committed people kept the digital voice of the youth constituency alive across continents. It is the story of graphics delivered at 3 am, videos stitched on airport floors, reels shot between negotiations, partnerships held together through grit, and coordination that stretched far beyond what numbers suggest.

We may have been few in Belém, but the impact reached far wider. And that is the clearest sign that YOUNGO Communications is not only defined by its size. It is defined by the people who refuse to let the work wither, even when capacity says it should.

Here’s to everyone who made this year possible. The digital presence of the youth constituency stands because you held the line.

Muito Obrigado!

The 2025 Global Youth Statement at arrives with a cover that tells its own story.

“Harvesting Hope” is part of the Número painting series, created by a youth from the Philippines, which the World Risk Index 2025 identifies as the most disaster-risk exposed country. The work draws from the spirals of cyclones, hurricanes, and typhoons that shape the lives of millions of young people.

The curation traces the exact coordinates where some of the world’s strongest storms made landfall. Each piece turns numbers into an abstract record of impact, carrying fragments of memory, displacement, and resilience. The series reflects local and youth realities from communities that continue to live with the long tail of climate disasters.

These artworks accompany the GYS to show that behind every demand there is a story, a place, and someone who has lived through the crisis the world is still debating.

For exhibit requests or collaborations on the 2025 GYS painting series, contact [email protected] or [email protected].
