🌍 2025: A year of turning creative influence into climate impact.

In 2025, Creatives for Climate grew from a pioneering community into part of the climate infrastructure of our industry. We stood with agencies, NGOs, movements and institutions who want to move beyond greenwash and take creative integrity seriously.

From cinema screens to COP30, from agency boardrooms to UN agendas – this is how we worked to turn creative influence into climate impact in 2025.

👇🏻 Along the way we:

- Brought 300+ leaders together for our Cinema for Climate Action event in Amsterdam.
- Trained 660+ people through the free Ethical Industry Transformation module, and activated during 200+ creatives in 8 cities during Earth Month to call out greenwashing.
- Raised the bar on Serviced Emissions within our and joined Oxford Net Zero's Serviced Emissions Hub;
- Backed two letters with partners like and to send a clear message: the age of fossil-fuelled storytelling is over – and our industry must stop it.
- Hosted three flagship events at SXSW London and London Climate Action Week, and stepped up at NYCW with our contribution on greenhushing to ’s RePlaybook.
- Hosted three global webinars to turn creative influence into climate integrity, with 1000+signups and 300 attendees.
- Joined the Action Agenda as leaders of two Plans to Accelerate Solutions.
- Unveiled the Creative Integrity Playbook and the Ethical Agency Alliance showreel on the COP30 main stage, showing that ethical creativity doesn’t limit us – it raises the bar.

💫 These milestones belong to YOU!

None of this would have happened without you – our team, Alliance members, partners and worldwide network of creatives, strategists and activists.

Thank you. 💚

🌍 Creative Influence enters the official COP30 Action Agenda!

The official outcome text of the Global Climate Action Agenda has been published, and it comes with several important firsts.

For the first time, the UNFCCC process has built 30 Action Areas to encourage concrete implementation - each with a Plan to Accelerate Solutions, and we will be leading two of them.

And it's a first time for CULTURE as well, officialy included within the Action Areas - a recognition that how we create and communicate shapes how fast we move on climate.

The outcome text also names our Creative Integrity Playbook and links the Ethical Agency Alliance Showreel as examples of how the creative industry can deliver real climate action.

💫 This recognition belongs to YOU, the movement!

None of this would have happened without our core team, our COP30 Ambassadors, members and the wider community of creatives, strategists and activists who keep pushing the industry towards climate truth, accountability and justice.

We’re already seeing that impact in the real world: since launch, the Playbook has reached 450+ downloads across 55 countries and 15+ media features - early signs of how ready this community is to bring creative integrity into its work.

If you want to explore what the creative industry shift means for your practice, dive into the Playbook and join the COP30 reportback webinar on Dec 4th.

It's our second major endorsement - following recognition as Race to Zero accelerator by the - and brings our work into a UN-recognised implementation framework for climate solutions.

This milestone validates creative influence as a real climate lever, in scope for future COPs, stocktakes and UN reports - and it belongs to our movement!

None of this would have happened without our core team, our COP30 Ambassadors, the Ethical Agency Alliance members and the wider community of creatives, strategists and activists who keep pushing the industry towards climate truth, accountability and justice.

Since launch, the Playbook has reached 450+ downloads across 55 countries and 15+ media features – not just numbers, but signals of how quickly this community can move when it has the right tools in its hands.

fell short on a fossil fuel phase-out. But there are still wins to take forward.

President Lula opened COP30 calling it the “COP of Truth”, and the first-ever Declaration on Information Integrity was launched in the same days.

This focus delivered one concrete result: information integrity entered the final Global Mutirão text, recognizing that we cannot achieve climate action without it. For those working in creativity, culture and communication, it marks a meaningful shift.

But the tension is clear. The final text did not include a fossil fuel phase-out committment - and with 1 in 25 participants coming from the oil&gas industry, the process is rightly criticised.

The same industries driving the crisis are influencing the response, and the consesus method allows petrostates to weaken ambition by expressing proper vetoes.

So what's the good news?

• A coalition of the willing is stepping up, with Colombia and the Netherlands set to host the first global conference on transitioning away from fossil fuels in 2026.
• For the first-time, UNFCCC structured 30 Action Areas, showing that a bridge is needed between political ambition and real-world delivery.
• CULTURE was officialy recognised as a driver of change in the Action Areas framework, meaning that that how we shape narratives, share information, and safeguard truth is key to implementation.

The summit may have ended with a huge gap between its promises and outcomes, but the inclusion of information integrity still signals progress.

Now the task is turning that recognition into real commitment, by shifting narratives and holding the creative industry accountable.

The legacy of COP30’s wins - and the next ones - is in our hands.

Have 30 years of COP changed the world or just the conversation? 🌍

asked our Founder .

Within the creative industries, pressure is mounting: fossil-ad restrictions, greenwash crackdowns, and tighter governance rules are making change inevitable. Progress is uneven, but momentum is real, and clearer pathways are emerging.

Initiatives like the Creative Integrity Playbook, a new procurement tool from ACT Climate Labs, and a new report from are helping agencies, brands and media owners align with science-based action and better understand their climate risk.

What do you think? Is COP driving real change, or just conversation?

👀 Did you know that the Creative Integrity Playbook is also live in Portuguese?

Launched last week on the Presidential stage, the Playbook is helping agencies and brands align their influence with climate science and integrity, and it’s available in both English and Portuguese and already gaining momentum worldwide in its first week!

Since the launch, it has surpassed 350 downloads, with strong uptake across Brazil’s creative, communications, and policy networks.

Coverage from outlets like and has amplified its reach, including CartaCapital’s spotlight on .ag, the Brazilian member featured in the Playbook. Their powerful call for the industry to break ties with fossil fuel interests underscores the urgency of the moment.

Their message is particularly timely.

COP30’s communications contract was awarded to Edelman, a major PR firm still working with fossil fuel clients, a clear conflict of interest at a COP where the focus has shifted decisively from pledges to practice.

With the world now entering week two of one of the most consequential COPs, and with the global conversation shifting firmly from pledges to practice, the industry’s internal pressure for accountability has never been more critical.

We’re in the decisive decade. The industry is moving from pledges to practice, and your voice matters

The need for creative integrity and industry accountability has never been greater.

"We cannot achieve climate action without information integrity"

Yesterday's words from Secretary are crucial - not just because they recognize the role of information integrity, but because of the context in which they are delivered.

⚠️ At , record numbers of lobbyists from polluting industries are taking part in key talks, trying to slow progress and influence outcomes.

COP30 has been called the ‘Implementation COP’ and the ‘COP of Truth’ - where promises must finally turn into policy, and policy into action.

Now in its second and most critical week, negotiations are unfolding under intense pressure, fueled by unprecedented lobbying. This pressure puts integrity, truth - and ultimately climate action - at risk.

🤝 And yet, COP30 is breaking new ground: for the first time ever, Information Integrity and Culture are recognized as official pillars of the COP agenda - while civil society and climate orgs are raising their voices in the Blue Zone, working to ensure these pillars remain strong.

What matters now is real delivery and bold action - starting with protecting truth and the integrity of information at COP30.

Momentum is building, and the creative industries are finally stepping into their real climate role.

Two landmark reports from and have launched at to help the advertising and creative industries take accountability for their climate impact, and to accelerate the adoption of Oxford Net Zero and Race to Zero’s Serviced Emissions Framework.

This globally recognised framework defines six action areas that help professional services, including advertising, PR, and marketing, measure, manage, and reduce the emissions linked to their client work. It connects governance, risk management, client due diligence, and project selection, giving organisations a whole-company approach to transition.

🤝🏻 Together, these reports mark a turning point in embedding climate transition principles into the creative economy.

Both reports highlight the most important, yet historically overlooked, aspect of advertising’s climate impact: its influence on society through the creative work produced for clients. Each provides practical tools and insights to shift this influence toward positive climate action.

Together, the reports cover the full ecosystem, from holding companies to independents, from strategy to ex*****on, from creative output to policy change.

The message from Belem is clear:

Climate integrity is no longer niche. It’s the new standard, and the creative sector is one of the most powerful levers in the global transition.
