Hands of Love for Bolivia, Inc. was started by a missionary couple who was serving in Bolivia, South America at the time with New Tribes Mission at a boarding school. A town about 20 minutes away, Comarapa, had a doctor from the local hospital that got in contact with this missionary couple and he had a vision of having a soup kitchen for children and so did they as they were seeing the need. They
put their heads together and the doctor recommended a lady who worked with the government at the time that knew the school system and which children were in need. This lady, Lidia has become vital in the ministry as she is now the director. Though the soup kitchen wasn't the end of the vision the missionaries had for this ministry. They wanted to grow it into housing children also. They found a piece of land and in 2006 they built a soup kitchen and 2007 the first dormitory. Hands of Love runs with two programs. The soup kitchen which feeds children outside of the home along with the children inside the home and the housing program. Hands of Love is now housing 27 children. Hands of Love wants to make a difference in these childrens lives. They want to give them hope to have a better and brighter future along with feeding them physically and spiritually.
