ASEAN Youth Organization - Brunei

ASEAN Youth Organization was founded in 2013 by two ASEAN youths, Senjaya Mulia from Indonesia and Vanna Hay from Cambodia. E-mail : [email protected]

This initiation arose because they were part of the ASEAN Community page, an online platform managed by youths from ASEAN countries and shared about ASEAN Cultures. In 2018, AYO received the ASEAN name authorization from the ASEAN Secretariat and established the AYO Social Enterprise in Singapore and Indonesia. Since then, AYO has established other arm’s organizations to support its sustainability: AYOAcademy, AYORecent, AYOPost, and AYOEnviro.

On May 8-9, AYO Brunei represented by Felix Lo join the the Empowering Youth Voices to Fight Corruption Across Southeast Asia, a regional forum and workshop in Kuala Lumpur hosted by the C4 Center to empower the next generation of anti-corruption leaders with the support of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC, ) and members of Southeast Asian Anti-Corruption Network for Civil Society Organisations (SEA-ACN).

Here’s a peak into the activities during the forum:

Day 1 was a refreshing and fun experience where participants were taught what corruption was and how rampant it was in the region and it happens everywhere in places and countries you might not even know existed. The panelists were professional youths from different backgrounds touching up on corruption and how it impacted each country on a different scale.

Day 1 was more of a learning session and Day 2 was where skills were out to the test. Participants were taught how to spot corruption and was formed into breakout groups make and present how to fight against corruption on a regional scale.

After the event ended all the participants went on a group tour to explore KL together on the final night before flying back the next day. Memories were made and connections were nurtured beyond borders.

Connected or Disconnected? 📳

On 19 December 2025, Youth Empowerment Conference (YEC), in collaboration with AYO Brunei, successfully held a meaningful workshop exploring the emotional impact of social media on teenagers.

The session encouraged youths to reflect on their social media habits, understand their emotional well-being, and learn practical ways to build healthier and more intentional digital activities.

A big thank you to for their generous support and refreshments, which helped make this workshop even more enjoyable for our participants 🥤✨
