Bermuda Red Cross Trusted Globally 🌎 Focused Locally 🇧🇲 Responding Impartially Registered Charity # 113 Independence

The movement is independent. It must be open to all.

The Seven Fundamental Principles

Proclaimed in Vienna in 1965, the seven Fundamental Principles bind together the:

National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
International Committee of the Red Cross
International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
They guarantee the consistency of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and its humanitarian work. Humanity

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, born of a desire to bring assistance without discrimination to the wounded on the battlefield, endeavors, in its international and national capacity, to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found. It promotes mutual understanding, friendship, co-operation and lasting peace amongst all peoples. Impartiality

It makes no discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. It endeavors to relieve the suffering of individuals, being guided solely by their needs, and to give priority to the most urgent classes of distress. Neutrality

In order to continue to enjoy the confidence of all, the Movement may not take sides in hostilities or engage at any time in controversies of a political, racial, religious or ideological nature. The National Societies, whilst auxiliaries in the humanitarian services of their governments and subject to laws of their respective countries, must always maintain their autonomy so that they may be able at all times to act in accordance with the principles of the Movement. Voluntary Service

It is a voluntary relief movement not prompted in any manner by desire for gain. Unity

There can only be one Red Cross or Red Crescent Society in any one country. It must carry on its humanitarian work throughout its territory. Universality

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, in which all Societies have equal status and share equal responsibilities and duties in helping each other, is worldwide.

🚑 Bermuda Red Cross in the Community - Supporting PartnerRE Women's Race 2026! 👟

On Sunday, October 4th, Bermuda Red Cross Mobile First Aid team were BACK IN ACTION after a summer reprieve.

The races kicked off with the Junior race starting at 8.15 am (within the grounds of Botanical Gardens) and then on to the road race (5k) at 9.00 am, ladies only, led by Christine Dailey.

Approximately 850 participants attended, even thought it was incredibly hot for October - happy to report that the runners & walkers did well and were not phased by conditions.❤️

This event saw a true collaboration of efforts from Bermuda Red Cross with St John’s Ambulance along with partners: Bermuda Police Service, Bermuda Regiment, MAAC and Community Members, all working together on the same team to oversee the safety of all runners and walkers.

If you are looking to ensure safety and first aid care for participants at your next event and would like to learn more about our Mobile First Aid services please get in touch. In addition, if you are interested in becoming a Bermuda Red Cross Responder — we’d love to hear from you!

👕 Donating to the Bermuda Red Cross Thrift Shop?
We LOVE your donations! ❤️ They help keep our Thrift Shop stocked and support the work of Bermuda Red Cross in our community.

But there are a few simple things you can do to make donating easier for our volunteers — especially when using our 24/7 Clothing Donation Box.

We’ve put together 5 SIMPLE TIPS to help!

🛍️ Think small bags — please divide large donations into smaller bags, no bigger than a white kitchen-size trash bag.

🎒 Tie your bags securely — please never tip or empty loose clothing into the donation box.

👗 Clothing, shoes & accessories only — we don't accept random household items through the clothing donation box.

✨ Clean & ready to wear — please make sure clothing is freshly laundered, clean and folded before donating.

⚠️ Safety first — please never place anything hazardous, sharp, broken or made of glass into the donation box. Our volunteers have to empty these boxes by hand, and we want to keep them safe!

A little extra care when preparing your donation makes a BIG difference to our volunteers. ❤️

Thank you for donating thoughtfully and helping us keep our Thrift Shop running smoothly!

❤️ 5 Reasons to Get CPR, AED & First Aid Trained

Emergencies can happen anywhere — at home, at work, at the gym, on the playing field or simply out in the community. Being trained means you’re better prepared to respond when every second counts.

Here are 5 reasons to get trained with Bermuda Red Cross:

1️⃣ You could save a life
Knowing what to do in those critical first few minutes can make a real difference while waiting for EMS to arrive.

2️⃣ Emergencies don't wait for the professionals
You might be the closest person when someone collapses, gets seriously injured or needs immediate help. Having the skills means you can take action instead of standing by.

3️⃣ Gain confidence in an emergency
It’s easy to panic when something goes wrong. Training gives you practical skills and the confidence to know what steps to take.

4️⃣ Be prepared for the people you care about ❤️
Family, friends, co-workers, teammates and even strangers may one day need your help. Being trained means you're ready to be there when it matters.

5️⃣ Help create a safer Bermuda 🇧🇲
The more people who are trained in CPR, AED and First Aid, the more prepared our community becomes.

And there’s something pretty powerful about knowing that you could be the difference between someone waiting for help and someone receiving help.

Complete your CPR, AED & First Aid training with Bermuda Red Cross. Courses are available for both first-time certification and recertification.
