đź’š Shavee Spotlight: Amanda

Amanda is shaving her head in support of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for a reason that is deeply personal — she’s a mother.

Having a daughter has given Amanda a powerful perspective on just how difficult it must be for families whose children are facing a cancer diagnosis. She can only imagine the emotional challenges those parents and children endure, and she wants to stand in support of them.

By taking part in this year’s shave, Amanda hopes to help raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research while showing solidarity with the families who are navigating these incredibly tough journeys.

Come out and support Amanda and all of our incredible shavees this Friday, March 13th at Docksiders as they go bald for a brave cause. Every donation helps move us closer to better treatments and cures. 🍀

đź’š Shavee Spotlight: Tom

This will be Tom’s third year participating in the St. Baldrick’s event, but his connection to the cause goes back much further. Nearly a decade ago, Tom was first introduced to the event when his close friend Shannon Totten bravely shaved her head. Over the years, members of the Totten family have continued to take part, inspiring Tom to eventually join in and shave for such an important cause.

When Tom first signed up to participate, he decided to go all in! growing his hair out for two full years before the event to help “sweeten the pot” and encourage more donations. Since last year’s shave, he has once again let his hair grow without a single haircut, all in hopes of raising as much money as possible for childhood cancer research.

Tom is also proud that his contracting company, KBR, has become a sponsor of St. Baldrick’s, helping support the mission even further.

While the act of shaving his head may seem selfless, Tom says the long hair he grows each year serves an important purpose. It’s a constant reminder of how fortunate he is, and of the incredible courage shown by children battling cancer every single day.

The countdown is on for the St. Baldrick’s Bermuda Event happening this Friday, March 13th at Docksiders! 🍀✂️

Join us as brave volunteers go bald to raise funds for childhood cancer research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Every shaved head represents hope, strength, and support for kids and families fighting cancer.
