Questo progetto è rivolto ai bambini dell’orfanotrofio “Casa della Gioia" di Pèrèrè, dove Carla Baraldi e la sua é
quipe accolgono neonati fino all’età di 2 anni, prendendosi cura della loro alimentazione, salute e assistenza. Il territorio è abitato da etnie come i Peulh ed i Gando, lontane da un contesto di sviluppo e quindi senza accesso ad un’adeguata assistenza sanitaria. I più esposti e vulnerabili sono i bambini, in particolare nei primi anni di vita. Quelli che arrivano al centro sono spesso malnutriti e prematuri e necessitano di cure mediche. Il personale dell’orfanotrofio fa il possibile ma fa fronte alla carenza di attrezzature diagnostiche per fornire l’assistenza adeguata. Per aiutare i bambini della Casa della Gioia bisogna perciò ampliare il Laboratorio Analisi e dotarlo di un ecografo e di un analizzatore ematologico. Queste attrezzature non aiuteranno solo i piccoli ospiti del centro ma saranno a servizio anche dei malati esterni. Inoltre, gli operatori hanno l’urgente esigenza di dotare la struttura di una culla termica per poter prendersi cura dei tanti bambini prematuri che raggiungono il centro. Sergio Rubino si definiva un Pediatra amico dei bambini. Nella sua carriera si è battuto con professionalità e passione affinchè i bambini potessero ricevere le cure mediche in un centro di eccellenza. This project is aimed at improving conditions for children at the orphanage "House of Joy" in Pèrèrè, where Carla Baraldi and her team welcome babies up to the age of 2, providing them with nutrition and essential medical care. Pèrère is located in the north-east of Benin, in an area where economic and social difficulties are prevalent. The territory is inhabited by ethnic groups such as the Peulh and the Gando who live in underdeveloped conditions without access to adequate health care. The most exposed and vulnerable members of these societies are children, especially those at the early stages of life. Those who arrive at the centre have often been born prematurely, are malnourished, and require medical care. The staff at the orphanage do their best, but they lack essential diagnostic equipment to provide adequate care. To help the children of the House of Joy there is a direct need for expansion of the Analysis Laboratory, to equip it with ultrasound and blood analysis machines. This equipment will not only help the young beneficiaries of the center, but will also be made available for external patients in the surrounding area. In addition to these analytical machines, the operators have an urgent need to provide the facility with a thermal cradle to care for the many premature infants who arrive at the center. Sergio Rubino, doctor and head physician of the hospital of Lamezia Terme that has left us last August, defined himself as a Pediatrician who was a friend of children. During his career he fought with professionalism and passion so that children could receive medical care at a center of excellence. It is with him in mind that we embrace this project with a passion to improve the lives of these infants. Help us make it happen! Ce projet s'adresse aux enfants de l'orphelinat "Maison de la Joie" à Pèrèrè, où Carla Baraldi et son équipe accueillent des bébés jusqu'à 2 ans, en veillant à leur alimentation, leur santé et leur assistance. Pèrèrè est situé au nord-est du Bénin, dans une zone en grande difficulté économique et sociale. Le territoire est habité par des ethnies telles que les Peulhs et les Gandos, loin d'un contexte de développement et donc sans accès à des soins de santé adéquats. Les plus exposés et les plus vulnérables sont les enfants, surtout durant leurs premières années. Ceux qui arrivent au centre sont souvent en sous-nutrition, prématurés et ont besoin de soins médicaux. Le personnel de l'orphelinat fait de son mieux mais fait face à la pénurie de matériel de diagnostic pour fournir une assistance adéquate. Pour venir en aide aux enfants de la Maison de la Joie, il est donc nécessaire d'agrandir le Laboratoire d'analyses pour l'équiper d'un échographe et d'un analyseur hématologique. Ces équipements permettront non seulement d'aider les petits hôtes du centre mais seront également au service des patients externes. De plus, les opérateurs ont un besoin urgent d'équiper la structure d'un berceau thermique afin de pouvoir prendre en charge les nombreux prématurés qui atteignent le centre. Sergio Rubino, médecin et chef de l'hôpital de Lamezia Terme qui nous a quittés en août dernier, se définissait comme un Pédiatre ami des enfants. Au cours de sa carrière, il s'est battu avec professionnalisme et passion pour que les enfants puissent recevoir des soins médicaux dans un centre d'excellence. In het weeshuis "House of Joy" in Pèrèrè, vangt Carla Baraldi samen met haar team kinderen tot de leeftijd van 2 jaar op met bijzondere aandacht voor gezonde voeding en gepaste zorg. Pèrère is een landelijk dorp in het Noordoosten van Benin in een regio die bewoond wordt door etnische groepen zoals de Peulh en de Gando. De regio kende tot nu een beperkte economische ontwikkeling en heeft een gebrek aan adequate gezondheidszorg. Kinderen zijn zeer kwetsbaar in hun eerste levensjaren en worden dan het meest getroffen door het gebrek aan adequate zorg. De kinderen van het weeshuis zijn maximaal twee jaar oud en komen in het centrum vaak ondervoed en prematuur aan. Ze hebben medische verzorging nodig en het personeel van het weeshuis probeert dit zo goed als mogelijk te voorzien. Echter, door een tekort aan medisch apparatuur (o.a. i.h.k.v. de diagnose) is dat niet altijd mogelijk. Enerzijds is het noodzakelijk om het laboratorium uit te breiden met een echograaf en een bloedanalysator. De bestaande en nieuwe apparatuur al niet enkel voor het weeshuis gebruikt worden maar ook voor externe patiënten. Anderzijds is er een grote nood aan couveuses zodat de premature kinderen in een gecontroleerde omgeving verzorgd kunnen worden. Sergio Rubino, arts en hoofdarts van het ziekenhuis van Lamezia Terme dat ons afgelopen augustus heeft verlaten, was kinderarts en een grote vriend van kinderen. Tijdens zijn loopbaan streed hij met veel passie en professionalisme voor de medische zorg aan kinderen in zijn expertisecentrum. We zijn ervan overtuigd dat hij ook dit project met dezelfde passie zou hebben omarmd. Bedankt alvast!
