Youth Power Africa is pleased to share an update from our activities in the Gabú Region. A training session on Reproductive and Sexual Health was recently held at FLC Gabú, and it was facilitated by Mrs. Felícia Júlio Fernandes.
The training brought together youth from our program alongside young people from the local community, creating an engaging space where participants could learn, ask questions, and build awareness on important health matters.
Our team remains committed to empowering young people across Guinea-Bissau through education, capacity building, and community-focused initiatives.
Empowering youth today for a stronger Guinea-Bissau tomorrow.

Meet Ellen Kaliva from SOS Liberia, an inspiring participant of the Youth Power Project. Recently, Ellen carried out a radio awareness campaign on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and gender-based violence (GBV), highlighting that the fight against GBV begins with education, awareness, and collective action.
Through open conversations on the airwaves, Ellen addressed a topic often overlooked but essential, empowering young people and communities to understand their rights and stand against violence.
We celebrate youth leaders like Ellen who are driving change and using their voices to make a real impact!

Meet François, one of our inspiring 2023 Youth Power Project participants from Guinea who continues to demonstrate what youth leadership truly looks like. Since completing the program, François has moved from training to real impact by implementing his own project and staying deeply engaged in community development. Recently, he took part in the celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child, supporting leadership training for young girls through AJAC Guinea where he previously served as President. He also joined the launch of an important initiative against child marriage in Macenta, working with stakeholders on promoting positive masculinity under the Guinean Children and Youth Advisory Council.
François represents exactly what Youth Power stands for, young people who do not just learn but lead, who do not just participate but create meaningful change. We are proud to see our past participants growing, serving, and transforming their communities across Africa.
