Due to the challenges faced by people living with physical disabilities and the elderly living with chronic diseases, the Legal Representative together with the voluntary staff conducted a dialogue between ADVPsD and people with special needs who are the people living with physical disabilities and the elderly living with chronic diseases there in the East of the country of Burundi in Ruyigi region in jully,2023.Those people speak with ADVPsD Legal Representative that they need medical treatment,other needs assistive devices( wheelchair,motigo,tricycle,whitecane,hearing aids,crutches,walking sticks to elderly), supplementary food,income generating activities, psychosocial support,phsiotherapy session(creation of clinics of physiotherapy). Non food items…etc.
After the organization became aware of the life challenges faced by people with special needs, they prepared an assessment of people living with physical disabilities and elderly living with chronic illness after assessment ADVPsD continue to provide various humanitarian aid through the contribution of the founding members, but the contributions are very small and cannot meet their needs because the number of people with special needs is very large because the country of Burundi went through a long civil war.
