YOUTH VOICE AGAINST CORRUPTION
On a bright afternoon of March 6th,2026 filled with determination and hope, the Libertarian Movement Against Malversation and Economic Crimes (LMAC) brought together a vibrant group of young people, students, and civic-minded citizens for an event dedicated to confronting corruption and promoting integrity in society. The gathering was not just another meeting; it was a powerful moment where the voices of the youth became the driving force behind a renewed commitment to transparency and accountability.
The event opened with an atmosphere of enthusiasm as participants arrived, many carrying notebooks, cameras, and ideas they were eager to share. Young people from different universities and communities gathered with a common purpose: to speak openly about corruption, its consequences, and the role the new generation must play in building a more honest society.
Egide NDUWAYO ,Founder and CEO of LMAC, welcomed the participants by emphasizing that corruption is not only a political issue but a social challenge that affects everyone, especially the youth. “When corruption grows,” the speaker noted, “it steals opportunities, weakens institutions, and destroys the dreams of young people.” This message resonated strongly with the audience.
The highlight of the event was the youth dialogue session, where students and young activists shared their experiences and perspectives. A university student stood up and spoke passionately about how corruption affects education systems. He explained that many talented students struggle because opportunities are sometimes given not based on merit but on favoritism or bribery.
Another participant, a young woman studying economics, described corruption as “a silent tax on the poor.” She explained how economic crimes drain public resources that should otherwise be used for schools, healthcare, and job creation. Her remarks drew applause from the audience, reflecting the shared frustration but also the shared determination.
