🎒📚 Back to School Means New Opportunities!

School is gearing up in Burundi, and we are so excited for the opportunity to help sponsor children as they continue into secondary school.

Education can open doors, create opportunities, and help change the trajectory of a child’s future—and we are grateful to be able to come alongside these students as they take this next step.

🌍💛 Why We Keep Showing Up

Because every child deserves to be seen.

Every child deserves to be valued.

Every child deserves to know that their life matters.

That is why we keep showing up.
That is why we keep learning.
That is why we keep building relationships.
And that is why we keep believing that even small steps can lead to lasting change.

There is still so much work to do, but we are grateful to be part of it.

đź’› One child. One family. One community at a time.

đź’› Small Acts. Big Love.

Sometimes changing a life doesn’t require doing something huge.

It can look like a meal.
A clean set of clothes.
A hug.
A safe place to sleep.
A listening ear.
Simply showing up.

We may not be able to change everything, but we can do something.

And when we each do our something, it adds up to a whole lot of hope. đź’›

đź’› The Hope Project Is Underway!

During our recent trip to Burundi, we had the incredible opportunity to attend a kickoff meeting for The Hope Project.

Nearly 30 people gathered around the table—orphanage directors, child welfare professionals, local adoptive parents, community leaders, and others who share one common goal:

To improve the lives of the children of Burundi.

We talked openly about the needs facing orphanages, gaps in funding and resources, and the challenges caregivers encounter every day. We also spent time learning about trauma responses in children and how a better understanding of trauma can help us care for children with greater compassion and wisdom.

What encouraged us most was the engagement in the room.

People asked questions.
They shared experiences.
They offered ideas.
They listened to one another.

This is exactly what we hope The Hope Project will be: a collaborative effort led by people who know their communities, understand the challenges, and are passionate about creating lasting change for vulnerable children.

We left that meeting incredibly encouraged and reminded once again that we don’t have to have all the answers. God has already placed amazing people throughout Burundi who are ready to come together, learn from one another, and work toward something better.

We are so excited to see what God does with this!

Please continue praying for The Hope Project, for the leaders involved, for continued funding for the project, and for wisdom as we take these next steps together. đź’›

🇧🇮💛 What a Whirlwind of a Trip!

It’s hard to believe our time in Burundi has already come to an end.

We came ready to listen and learn—and we are heading home with so much more than we could have imagined.

We learned so much.
We made beautiful new friendships.
We strengthened relationships with dear friends and partners.
We visited orphanages and gained a better understanding of the needs throughout Burundi.
And perhaps most exciting of all…we got the ball rolling on The Hope Project.

Our hearts and our minds are FULL.

Now we’re ready to head home, decompress for a minute, process everything we’ve seen and learned…and then hit the ground running again!

There is much work ahead, but we are leaving Burundi more encouraged and more excited than ever about what God is doing and what lies ahead.

To everyone who prayed for us, encouraged us, supported this trip, and followed along—thank you. Your prayers have carried us, and your support makes this work possible.

Please pray for safe travels home and for wisdom as we begin turning everything we learned this week into action.

This trip may be ending, but the work is just beginning. đź’›

đź’›Beautiful does not even begin to describe the people of Africa.

In fact, I’m not sure there are words sufficient to describe what we’ve experienced.

Their joy.
Their generosity.
Their resilience.
Their faith.
Their hospitality.

Again and again, we’ve been welcomed not as visitors, but as friends…as family.

The love we’ve experienced here has left a lasting mark on our hearts.

Yes, there is hardship.

Yes, there is great need.

But there is also incredible beauty—found not just in the landscapes, but in the people.

We came hoping to be a blessing, yet once again, we find ourselves being blessed far more than we could have imagined.

Thank You, Lord, for reminding us that Your image is reflected in every culture, every nation, and every person.đź’›

🚗🇧🇮 On the Road to Learn, Listen, and Love

Today, we’re heading to Gitega as we continue our journey to better understand the needs of orphanages throughout Burundi.

One of the most important things we can do is listen.

Every orphanage has its own story.
Every community has its own challenges.
Every child deserves to be seen.

Our goal isn’t simply to visit—it’s to learn from the people who are faithfully caring for these children every day. We want to understand their greatest needs, build meaningful relationships, and discover where God is leading LGLO: Global to come alongside the work already happening.

We would love your prayers today.

Pray for safe travels, open hearts, meaningful conversations, and wisdom as we continue learning from those on the front lines of orphan care.

We believe every conversation brings us one step closer to making a lasting difference.

đź’› Together, we are helping ensure that no child is overlooked.

04/08/2026

Today was one of those days we’ll never forget.

What an incredible privilege it was to experience just a small glimpse of that today.

Our hearts are full.

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude… from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.” — Revelation 7:9

What an incredibly beautiful day. đź’›

🏛️💛 Building Strong Partnerships for Lasting Change

Today, we have the privilege of meeting with the Ministry responsible for orphan care in Burundi.

This is an important opportunity to listen, learn, and continue building strong relationships with those who are working every day to improve the lives of vulnerable children.

We would appreciate your prayers today.

Please pray for wisdom, meaningful conversations, and God’s guidance as we discuss ways to strengthen orphan care and support children and families throughout Burundi.

We are grateful for every door God continues to open and excited to see what He has in store.

đź’› Together, we are helping ensure that no child is overlooked.

🇧🇮💛 The Need Is Great

Today, we traveled to several local orphanages to listen, learn, and better understand the needs of the children and caregivers.

At each place, we saw both tremendous need and incredible resilience.

Reliable, current numbers are difficult to find, but hundreds of thousands of children throughout Burundi have lost one or both parents or are living in vulnerable circumstances. Behind every statistic is a child with a name, a story, and a future worth fighting for.

The needs can feel overwhelming, but today reminded us why showing up matters.

We may not be able to meet every need, but we can listen.
We can build relationships.
We can raise awareness.
We can pray.
And we can faithfully take the next step God places before us.

Please pray for wisdom as we process everything we saw today and consider where LGLO: Global may be called to serve next.

The need is great—but our God is greater. 💛
