On 26th September, young people came together in Bujumbura to discuss how climate change is shaping peace and security in their communities and to co-create recommendations for a more resilient Burundi.

Through conversations, group discussions, and collective reflection, participants explored how climate change is affecting livelihoods, social cohesion, and the everyday realities of young people. More importantly, they worked together to develop practical recommendations that will contribute to the Burundi Youth Climate, Peace and Security Agenda.

This consultation was organized by YELI-BURUNDI in partnership with MS TCDC under YouLead Africa

Together, young people are shaping solutions for climate, peace, and resilience.

Concentration, créativité et ambition !

Nos 20 jeunes bénéficiaires apprennent à identifier les opportunités économiques locales et à bâtir leurs premiers plans d'affaires. Ici, on n'apprend pas seulement à entreprendre, on apprend à entreprendre POUR soi-même et POUR sa communauté.

Merci à nos formateurs, aux points focaux et au Ministère de la Jeunesse, des Sports et de la Culture pour leur accompagnement.

🚀 C'EST PARTI !

40 jeunes à risque, 2 villes, 1 même ambition : devenir acteurs de paix par l'entrepreneuriat des jeunes.

Du 22 au 25 septembre 2026, nous conduisons simultanément à Gitega et Ngozi un atelier de 4 jours sur l'entrepreneuriat, l'innovation et l'élaboration de plans d'affaires. Notre objectif est d'aider les jeunes a transformer les idées en micro-projets concrets qui renforcent leur protection et la cohésion sociale dans leurs communautés respectives.

Cette activité s'inscrit dans le cadre du projet PBF « Les jeunes ensemble pour la mise en œuvre de l'agenda Jeunesse, Paix et Sécurité et la cohésion sociale au Burundi » financé par le Programme des Nations Unies pour le développement - PNUD.

Climate, Youth, Peace & Security

Are you a young person in Burundi passionate about climate action, peace, and security?

The Youth Empowerment and Leadership Initiative (YELI), in partnership with MS TCDC under the YouLead Africa , invites young people from across Burundi to take part in the Youth Climate, Peace & Security Consultations. Together, we will shape youth priorities and recommendations for a more resilient and peaceful future.

To be considered, applicants must:
Complete the online registration form.
