Happy Mother’s Day 💙

This Mother's Day, we celebrate every mother — including the mothers in Burundi who no longer have to walk miles for water and can now spend that time with the ones they love.

Clean water is a gift to mothers everywhere.

Thank you for making it possible.

🤰 Imagine a woman coming to give birth and being told to bring two jerrycans of water for her own delivery.

Yes, clean water scarcity in health care facilities is a real crisis 🚨— and it needs our immediate attention.

In just the first quarter of the year, we provided access to clean water to more than 80,000 people across Burundi.

But what does this milestone truly represent?

More than 80,000 lives impacted
More than 80,000 people no longer relying on unsafe water sources
More than 80,000 individuals better protected from waterborne diseases

And this is only the beginning.

This month, we have launched the second phase of our mission, with a goal of reaching 250,000 people. A key milestone in this phase is the Tenga Water Project, which will provide clean water access to 55,000 people in the Tenga area.

Our mission is clear: to ensure that every community in Burundi has access to clean and safe water by 2030.

For Amazi Water to complete a clean water system, it is never the work of one person. It is a collective effort that brings together a wide range of expertise—engineers, drillers, electricians, water quality technicians, and many others.

Each discipline plays a vital role, working in harmony to bring clean water—and hope—to every community.

Behind every pump installed, every pipe laid, and every drop of clean water delivered, there are dedicated individuals whose courage, skill, and commitment drive this mission forward. Their work may not always be visible, but its impact is undeniable.

Today, we honor these men and women.

Through their tireless efforts, we’ve provided safe and reliable water to more than 2,6 million people across Burundi. This achievement goes far beyond numbers—it represents lives transformed, communities strengthened, and hope restored.

On this Labour Day, we celebrate the people behind Amazi Water projects. Your dedication continues to change the story of thousands of families every single day.

Happy Labour Day to all our staff 👏🏽

Our CEO, Jason Peters, will be in Rome this April 22–23, joining over 100 global leaders, experts, and practitioners at a historic gathering focused on advancing Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in health care facilities

In many low-resource settings, healthcare facilities still operate without safe water, proper sanitation, or basic handwashing infrastructure. Yet, together with partners—especially faith-based organizations delivering up to 50% of healthcare services—we are driving real and sustainable solutions.
