On Sunday, November 12, 2023, it was a start of a journey like many others that would change lives. As a tradition, to begin the day right, the Initiatives in Medical Interventions Fellowship-IMIF a faith-based organization, start with devotion and prayer. Three years ago in 2020, IMIF a team of young Burundian physicians began with a mission of serving the underserved, reaching the unreached and bringing hope to the hopeless by spreading love with compassion. Early morning on Monday November 13 2023, the team visited a community of 50 households in a small island called KURUYOKA in the province of Kirundo. In that area KURUYOKA, it is difficult to call for help and get help. It's just difficult to reach these people. It was on a muddy and slippery day, but certainly, it was worthwhile. It was through generous donations and support of Mission Partners for Christ and collaboration of Calvary Ministry-CAPRO that the IMF doctors and a team of non-medical volunteers were able to distribute 55 backets with filters. One filter with one backet for one household. This is how a medical team from IMIF brought the community together to explain the purpose of their visit and thus make them aware of the importance of good hygiene and the consumption of drinking water to maintain good health. This life-changing donation of safe water to people living in remote areas had the potential to alter lives forever. Smiles and good humor rocked their day and invaded the IMIF team with a dose of love.
Love is Happy, Love is Warm, Love is Simple and Love is Joy.
