We are a few weeks away from the start of the school year , thousands of children and families are still questioning themselves whether they will make it. Did you know that thousands of children from poor and underprivileged families in Burundi don't know if they will go to school this upcoming school year? Not because they don't have that desire but they are disabled by poverty in their families.

Did you know that together we can make a difference in helping them get a package of school supplies made of copybooks,pens,shoes to start school year with?

Last Sunday August 2nd, at the Evangelical Church of Central Africa (ECCA/EEAC) Gatumba, we were given an opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for the success of our recent youth retreat. As he addressed the church , the UYD leader thanked the Almighty for his faithfulness from the beginning to the end of the retreat. He thanked the church leadership and the participants' families for allowing their youths to participate in that youth event. Among the 40 youths who participated in our retreat, 27 were from this church.

Just before we kicked off our youth retreat, Nicole UYD Team member interviewed some of the participants to learn more about their motives and expectations. One of the youths she interviewed was Brillant from Gatumba , through this interview you can learn that our participants were expectant of something great and they really received it during those 4 days.

After taking a family photo with all participants and the UYD Team, we took another one just for the men. These individuals were called men of purpose.
Most of them are engaged in various activities within their local churches. We believe that even the remaining handful will also step in different roles as they use their talents and gifts for the glory of God both inside and outside the church.

As we keep ruminating over our recent Youth Retreat and contemplating God's goodness and faithfulness manifested during the 4-day event.

Today we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to different groups of people/ organizations that contributed to the success of our youth retreat.

Firstly,we thank God for his goodness and faithfulness that enabled us to hold the event successfully ,

Secondly, we thank all our friends and partners who obeyed God's voice by funding the event. To all the families, organizations, individuals that supported us thank you so much for standing with us both prayerfully and financially,

Thirdly, we want to thank each one of you who was not able to support us financially but held the retreat in their thoughts and prayers, that meant a lot to us,

And finally, we thank all the UYD Team for their hardworking and zeal ,local churches and families that sent theirs to be under our responsibility during 4 days, all the participants who unabled us to achieve 100% attendance at the retreat.

We will always be grateful for every prayer, advice, amount and encouragement invested in that life transforming event.

May the Lord bless you abundantly!
