The 2026–2027 school year is off to a great start! 🎉

In many of our partner schools, we’ve seen the number of students in YIM Clubs grow, and it’s clear that young people love what YIM teaches them. Seeing their energy, curiosity and commitment fills us with joy and hope for the future of Burundi. 🇧🇮✨

Together, we are creating change!

Yesterday Youth Impact Mission Burundi got the opportunity to train new members who are passionate about becoming Agents of Transformation. 💪🏽

These new agents will join us in different activities, including supporting and facilitating learning sessions in our existing clubs fromdifferent highschools, as well as taking part in other initiatives aimed at empowering young people and creating positive change in our communities.

We are excited to welcome people who are ready to take action and be part of the transformation journey.

📌Day 2: From fear to impact

Mrs. Claudette opened her session by encouraging participants to reflect on what truly fuels their potential.

Drawing from her own experience of overcoming the fear of public speaking, she showed how one courageous step can unlock life-changing opportunities.

➡️She introduced the four types of fuel needed to unlock one's potential:

1. Mindset Fuel: Your life today is the result of your thinking yesterday.
2. Skill Fuel: Developing knowledge and skills while overcoming fear is essential to activating your potential.
3. Values Fuel: Non-negotiable values aligned with your life mission are the fuel that keeps your engine running clean.
4. People Fuel: Choosing the right people to surround yourself with is key to personal growth.

💬She also emphasized the journey from dependence to independence, and ultimately to interdependence, showing that real impact begins from within before it reaches others.

She concluded by challenging everyone to choose one fuel to strengthen this week and one person to impact this month, reminding the audience that training without action is only information.

⁉️ Her final question left everyone reflecting: "When will you start?"🤔

🎯Day 2: Part 2: Positioning

During the second session, Phillip Ojok explained that positioning is about creating a unique and valuable identity through visibility, character, and impact.

✍🏼He emphasized that true positioning leaves a lasting legacy, ensuring people remember the value you contributed long after you're gone, just as they remember icons like Nelson Mandela, Williams sisters, Michael Jackson,......

✅He emphasized that strong positioning is built through hard work, consistency, perseverance, and trusting the process, despite challenges. However, a position that is not managed well can easily be lost.

✍🏼To become truly impactful, he encouraged participants to:

1. Understand themselves and others.
2. Build a strong relationship with God.

3. Develop a clear vision and purpose.
4. Build meaningful relationships.
5. Surrender everything to God.

In conclusion, he highlighted two essential qualities for maintaining a strong position:

1. Power – the ability everyone has to create positive change.

2. Wisdom – the insight to make the right decisions and use that power effectively.

📍Part 1: Focus on Process

In his introduction, Ojok highlighted that we cannot fully develop our potential unless we remain in God. He explained that our potential grows through the experiences, challenges, and different processes we go through in life.

🎯Using the example of Joseph in the Bible, he showed that success is often shaped by patience, faith, resilience, and the ability to trust the process despite difficulties.

He reminded participants that every great person is redefined through adversity and perseverance.

🤔The session concluded with reflection questions:
-What is life teaching me now about my purpose?
-What unique contribution am I gathering?
-What are my experiences pointing me toward?
-And what am I going to do about it?

📍De l'étincelle à la flamme

Lors de son intervention, Mukamisha Ghyslaine a invité chacun à réfléchir à cette question : « Et si ton potentiel n'était pas fait pour toi ? »

➡️ Elle a expliqué que le potentiel représente ce que nous devenons, tandis que l'impact correspond à ce que nous donnons aux autres. Elle a également rappelé qu'un potentiel non partagé est un potentiel gaspillé, en s'appuyant sur cette citation de John Maxwell : « Grandir soi-même permet de faire grandir les autres. »

Par la suite, elle a souligné que la croissance repose sur quatre dimensions : les compétences, le caractère, les relations et les croyances, en précisant que le caractère est ce qui nous permet de rester au niveau que nous avons atteint.

🎤 Elle a ensuite présenté trois clés pour passer du potentiel à l'impact : identifier un problème à résoudre, utiliser les ressources et les talents dont nous disposons, puis rester disponible pour répondre aux besoins des autres.

Enfin, elle a partagé les quatre disciplines de la contribution : être reconnaissant, penser aux vies que l'on touche, ne pas laisser les biens ou les choses nous faire perdre nos valeurs, et vivre dans le détachement.

💬 Elle a conclu par ces mots inspirants : « Ton potentiel grandit quand tu le gardes, mais il explose quand tu le donnes. »

During his session, Uncle Tim Kreuter emphasized that everyone needs fuel to unlock their potential and positively impact others.

➡️He explained that :

-fuel enables growth,
-potential is our hidden capacity, and
-impact is using our gifts to serve and inspire others.

He then outlined four steps to increase our impact:
1. Step Up (take responsibility),
2. Stand Up (stand for what is right),
3. Speak Up (use your voice wisely), and
4. Style Up (live with excellence).

Furthermore, he shared seven ways to fuel our potential:
1. seeking exposure,
2. gaining experience,
3. practicing leadership, learning continuously,
4. Enlighten yourself
5. eliminating bad habits,
6. expanding our network, and
7. fully surrendering to God.

Finally, he concluded with the example of a pen, explaining that if it refused to be used, it would remain useless; but when it allows itself to be used, it writes books, letters, and changes lives. Likewise, we should allow God to use us so that we become a blessing to others.
