🇮🇹🤝🇧🇬 From 26 to 30 May 2026, Bulgaria Economic Forum led a study delegation to Tuscany, Italy, bringing together 24 mayors, municipal councillors, local government experts and business representatives.
📍 In Siena and Colle di Val d’Elsa, participants explored best practices in local governance, social services, waste management, sustainable urban development and municipal leadership.
🌱 The delegation also learned about the vision and objectives of the NONA – New gOvernance for New spAces project. A key message emerged throughout the discussions: in a rapidly changing world, challenges should be viewed not only as risks, but also as opportunities to create a better future.
🏘️ Through the approach, municipalities can identify new opportunities and transform underused spaces into drivers of sustainable development, innovation and community resilience.
🎯 Participants also explored the core principles of the NONA capacity-building model: leadership, strategic management, effective implementation of knowledge and the ability to bring stakeholders together around a shared vision for the future.
🤝 International exchange and peer learning remain among the most powerful tools for building stronger, more resilient and future-oriented communities.
