Prior to seeking angel investment, it is important that your business is at the right growth threshold and that you are ready for the responsibility of having outside investors. The CAC invest b

etween EUR 10 000 and EUR 200 000. We are looking for companies that have an established proof of concept and are poised for growth. We tend to avoid investments that require significant capital and regulatory approval in order to get their product to market. CEO Angels Club looks for early stage, normally post-accelerator startups that are highly scalable and that can show us how the company will get to break-even or to a clear meaningful mile stone (e.g.Seed or Series A.Funding) within 12-24 months on the basis of our one-time investment. This typically means smallish teams (2 to 5 people), with serious domain expertise and a product that is either currently in the market or already in beta.

🧑🏻‍🔬Last week, we brought together 16 speakers, 10+ partners, and a room full of researchers, PhD candidates, and deep tech innovators for the ESIL Masterclass Bulgaria - a full day dedicated to one question: how do you turn breakthrough research into a real venture?

👉🏻 The answer, it turns out, is rarely about the science. The science is usually strong. What's missing is the bridge - a clear commercial narrative, a market pathway, an understanding of how investors think and what they actually need to hear.

Over the course of the day, we covered:
→ How to write EIC Pathfinder and Transition proposals that go beyond technical excellence - and build in impact, exploitation, and market logic from the start
→ What IP strategy, technology transfer, and spin-off creation actually look like in practice
→ How Business Angels evaluate early-stage deep tech - and how to start building those relationships before you need the funding
→ How to turn a research result into an investment narrative

Selected teams also had the chance to pitch live to experienced investors - one of the more practical and inspirational moments of the day.

🚀 That’s exactly what the ESIL Masterclass in Sofia is designed to change.

This week’s pitch session in Sofia brought together founders and investors around three distinct, but equally compelling opportunities — across Data Infrastructure, Agentic AI, and Logistics Automation.

Each team showcased not only strong vision, but also early traction and a clear path toward scaling — exactly what we look for at this stage. From unlocking real-time intelligence from complex datasets, to building autonomous agents, to rethinking how deals are executed in logistics, the diversity of approaches sparked meaningful conversations in the room.
