‼️Scroll down for the English‼️
На 28.01.2026 г. в Нов български университет се проведе отворена лекция на тема „Музиката като средство за справяне със стреса“. Участниците имаха възможността да се включат в различни активности за управление на стреса, както и да участват в дискусия за поставянето на граници. Събитието е последваща дейност след Еразъм+ проекта „Our Way to a Healthy Mind“, проведен в началото на януари в Малта. Благодарим на клуб „Добра воля“ и НБУ за оказаното съдействие и възможност!

On January 28, 2026, an open lecture titled “Music as a Tool for Coping with Stress” was held at New Bulgarian University. Participants had the opportunity to engage in various stress management activities and join a discussion on setting boundaries. This event is a follow-up activity to the Erasmus+ project “Our Way to a Healthy Mind,” which took place in early January in Malta. We would like to thank the “Goodwill” Club and NBU for their cooperation and for making this opportunity possible!

Day 5 ✨

The second-to-last day blended reflection, movement, and personal experience. We began with a scenic coastal walk along Malta’s shoreline near the famous Popeye Village. With stunning sea views and a peaceful atmosphere, the walk offered the perfect setting for thoughtful engagement with the project’s themes. Along the way, we made planned stops to complete short reflective questionnaires, connecting the ideas from previous sessions with our own emotions and experiences. 🌊💭
To make the walk even more personal, participants listened to music of their choice, adding an introspective layer as songs evoked memories and emotions. The combination of nature, movement, music, and reflection created a calm and meaningful space for individual exploration. 🎶✨

Later in the day, we turned our focus to creativity and collaboration by composing original songs inspired by the main theme of the youth exchange. Teams were guided by leaders with musical experience, helping to shape melodies, rhythms, and lyrics. Everyone contributed according to their strengths — writing, singing, playing instruments, or sharing creative ideas.
The activity encouraged teamwork, experimentation, and self-expression. Each group brainstormed, explored different musical styles, and transformed their ideas into a complete piece. It was both challenging and inspiring, showcasing how personal perspectives can come together to create something meaningful and unique. 🎵🤝

Day 4 ✨

Day four started with an insightful session on anxiety and the “five-senses meditation” technique. Participants explored how anxiety can show up in daily life and learned simple grounding strategies to calm the mind.
The five-senses meditation encouraged us to focus on sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste, helping increase mindfulness and emotional balance in stressful moments. 🌿🧘
Next, we dove into existential psychology, discussing meaning, personal values, freedom, and responsibility. Through guided reflection, we explored how these ideas can help build resilience, navigate uncertainty, and develop a stronger sense of purpose. It was a thought-provoking session that invited deep self-reflection and meaningful conversation. 💭✨
In the afternoon, we enjoyed free time to relax and explore Malta. Local participants guided us to hidden gems, scenic viewpoints, historic landmarks, and charming neighborhoods that many tourists don’t see. This time allowed us to bond in a more informal way, creating shared memories while discovering the island’s beauty and culture. 🌊🏛️
The combination of reflection, mindfulness, and cultural exploration made Day 4 both refreshing and inspiring, leaving everyone with new insights and unforgettable experiences.

Day 3 ✨

The third day focused deeply on mental health awareness and open dialogue. We started with an interactive board game, where five teams explored different mental health topics through questions and group discussions. The game covered areas such as general mental health, anxiety, psychosis, depression, and eating-related challenges. This activity created a safe and supportive space for sharing opinions, learning from one another, and increasing awareness, while also helping to reduce stigma around mental health topics.
Later, we took part in a session focused on setting personal boundaries and understanding their importance for emotional wellbeing and healthy relationships. Through an interactive exercise, participants reflected on their own limits and needs in different situations. The activity was followed by listening to music connected to the theme, allowing us to reflect on emotions and relate them to personal experiences. This combination of reflection, discussion, and music encouraged greater self-awareness and emotional expression. 🎶🧠
The day ended with a debate on whether artificial intelligence should be used in music. Participants were divided into teams for and against the idea, with a jury evaluating the arguments. Topics such as creativity, ethics, originality, and the future of the music industry were discussed. After careful consideration, the jury declared the pro-AI team the winner, highlighting the importance of critical thinking, respectful dialogue, and informed
opinion-making. 🤖🎵

Day 2 ✨

Our second day continued with a strong focus on mental health and resilience. We started with group discussions where we reflected on the challenges young people face today and shared different ways of coping with stress and building emotional strength. These conversations created a safe and supportive space for exchanging experiences and learning from one another.
Later, we took part in a teamwork challenge: building the tallest possible tower using only paper, scissors, tape, and markers. Each team had limited time to plan and construct a stable and creative structure, which was later evaluated based on design, height, and strength.
To make things even more interesting, everyone had a specific limitation — some participants couldn’t speak, others were blindfolded, or had to work using only one hand. This pushed us to communicate creatively, adapt quickly, and support each other despite the challenges.
As the day went on, we worked on a research-based activity exploring how music has influenced society throughout different historical periods. In groups, we discussed the social, emotional, and cultural impact of music and how it has helped people express identity, cope with difficulties, and reflect societal change. 🎶🧠
In the afternoon, we were placed into new teams for a fun and creative activity using silent cartoon clips. Our task was to recreate the sounds and dialogues using only everyday objects. This activity sparked lots of laughter, imagination, and collaboration, turning silent scenes into lively and often humorous mini-performances. 🎬✨

Day 1 ✨

The first day of our youth exchange began with a series of icebreaking activities that helped everyone feel more comfortable, open, and connected. Participants from different countries and cultural backgrounds quickly started to interact, communicate, and build a friendly atmosphere full of curiosity and positive energy.
After that, we were divided into teams, known as “families,” which gave us a strong sense of belonging from the very beginning. In these groups, we took part in the Mission Impossible challenge — a fun and fast-paced activity that required teamwork, creativity, and good communication. Completing missions, filming short videos, and exploring different locations brought lots of excitement, laughter, and cooperation throughout the day.
Later on, we focused on the emotional power of music. In small groups, we listened to full albums and reflected on the emotions, memories, and thoughts each song evoked. Sharing our impressions helped us understand how music can influence mental wellbeing and how differently people can experience the same sounds.
We ended the day with the much-anticipated international evening, where each country presented traditional food and treats. The friendly guessing game added even more fun, celebrating cultural diversity and strengthening the bonds within the group. 🌍❤️
