Co-founders of Bulgarian Design Council will be presenting "Design Intelligence: From Roots to Futures" at PechaKucha Night Sofia #42 - BELONGING BY DESIGN June 12 +Book Signing.

Stefi Peykova Krishnan, Dobra Slavkova and Radina Doneva founded The Bulgarian Design Council to recognise, connect, and amplify the design intelligence as a force for public value, that
Bulgaria has always carried in its culture, crafts, rituals, systems, and ways of making.

They are guided by one challenge: how to establish design as a recognised national capability, shaping better public services, more inclusive systems, stronger organisations, and responsible innovation?

In pursuit of this vision, they are building design capability across education, government, policy, and business, helping Bulgaria create more responsible futures through design.

Join us on Friday to hear more about this worthy initiative to engage and activate the imagination of a nation at the creative level!

Янислав Русев (Yanislav Rusev) will present his latest project at PechaKucha Night Sofia #42 - BELONGING BY DESIGN June 12 +Book Signing. He is an English teacher and founder of English Motivator BG, an educational platform that teaches English through animated stories and series.

After years of teaching students in traditional classrooms, he started building a new learning experience where education feels more like watching a streaming platform than attending a lesson.

His work combines education, storytelling, animation, AI tools, and product design to make language learning more engaging and accessible.

He is currently "Building the Netflix of English Learning" on englishmotivator.com

Join us and discover what happens when an English teacher decides to rethink how languages are taught. In this presentation, Yanislav will share the journey behind English Motivator, a platform that transforms language learning into an experience inspired by streaming services, animated storytelling, and modern digital design.

The talk explores the intersection of education, creativity, AI, and entrepreneurship, and how a small idea evolved into a growing product used by learners around the world.

Eleonora Carnasa is a service designer, nutrition researcher & founder of Nora Formulas and will present the importance of biochemistry as a life designer at PechaKucha Night Sofia #42 - BELONGING BY DESIGN June 12 Community Hub, entitled "The Most Powerful Designer in Your Life Is Not Your Brain. It's Your Biochemistry."

Eleonora is a designer who accidentally fell in love with biochemistry. After more than twenty years in innovation and service design, a personal health crisis led her to ask a different kind of question: why do humans do what they do?

Today she studies the biology behind behavior and explores how nutrition, biochemistry, and health shape the decisions we make every day.

She is the founder of Nora Formulas and believes that the next frontier of design may not be better products, but better humans.

We like to believe that our decisions shape our lives. But what if our biology shapes many of those decisions first?

In this personal talk, Eleonora Carnasa shares how a search for answers led her from the world of design into the world of human biology, and why she now believes that biochemistry may be one of the most powerful designers of our lives.

A story about health, human behavior, and seeing ourselves through a completely different lens.
