There is a difference between finishing a programme and being changed by it.

This week, our YETS Ghana cohort - Cohort 2 of the Sporting Unity Virtual Exchange Programme presented their action plans and officially completed the programme. The certificate is coming. But what they are leaving with right now is the real outcome: a new lens on Olympism, colonialism in sport, gender equality, and how to drive change in their own communities.

At the same time, XCEL Basketball Academy completed their final module, learning how to build a structured action plan to address real issues in their communities. Next week they will present their plans and receive their certificates. The journey is almost complete for Cohort 3.

Two cohorts. Two different stages. One programme doing real work with real young people in Ghana.

Sporting Unity is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. 💙

On 22 July 2026, the SISTERS partnership held its 3rd Consortium Meeting, bringing together representatives from all partner organisations, along with the project's Project Officer.

During the meeting, partners reviewed the progress and achievements across each work package, while also discussing the activities currently underway. Particular focus was placed on the upcoming Sports Tournament and the Extra-Time Campaign—we'll be sharing more updates on these very soon!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated for the productive discussions and the valuable contributions that helped shape the agreed next steps. The partnership continues to move forward with a clear vision and great enthusiasm for the exciting activities ahead.

🏀 Dual Career is not a Plan B

For wheelchair basketball players, life beyond competition should not begin only when the final whistle blows.

A dual career pathway means recognising that athletes already develop valuable skills through sport — leadership, discipline, communication, teamwork, decision-making and resilience.

Through the Wheelchair Basketball Players as Future Basketball Managers (WBBM) project, these skills are connected with structured learning opportunities in areas such as event management, officiating, table officials’ roles and sport management.

The goal is to support wheelchair basketball players in transforming their on-court experience into knowledge, confidence and practical competencies for future roles within the basketball ecosystem.

Because dual career is not about replacing sport.

It is about expanding what sport can become.

From Court to Management.

Champions Factory is proud to be a partner in the REFLECT project.

Our team recently participated in the first REFLECT Transnational Partners Meeting (TPM #1), where project partners came together to establish a shared vision, align on project objectives, and strengthen collaboration for the implementation phase.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, define priorities, and reinforce our collective commitment to promoting youth empowerment, inclusion, and meaningful participation across partner countries.

We look forward to collaborating with our partners and sharing the progress and impact of the REFLECT project in the months ahead.
