In a dynamic and insightful AI masterclass session at Bits & Pretzels, the Bulgarian delegation gathered to discuss the pivotal role of AI in shaping the future of business value. The event explored how cutting-edge AI solutions, developed by leading Bulgarian startups, can revolutionize industries, enhance operational efficiency, and unlock new revenue streams.

The event kicked off with a warm welcome by Storytelling Studio, where the host highlighted the purpose of the gathering—demonstrating the Bulgarian tech ecosystem’s strength and its leadership in AI-driven innovation. This was followed by a series of engaging presentations, each focusing on how AI technologies are transforming different sectors:

Petar Dimov, Co-founder & CTO of Integrator JSC, opened with an exciting presentation on how their AI solutions are enhancing security, compliance, and governance for companies across the globe.

Todor Todoroff MBA, CEO of Bronia AI, presented their dual-use technology that covers defense, smart city infrastructure, and industrial automation, showcasing how their AI-powered products address real-world challenges across industries.

Konstantin Bezuhanov, Co-founder & CEO of Evrotrust, shared how AI is making waves in the legal and fintech sectors, driving digital transformation with secure identity verification and document authentication.

Philip Balkanski, Co-founder & CEO of Codery, elaborated on the role of AI in the software development space, where AI tools help streamline development cycles, making teams more productive and efficient.

A special Fireside Chat followed, where Stephane Gantchev from LAUNCHub Ventures and Teodor Antonio Georgiev, Co-Founder of Storytelling Studio discussed the broader VC perspective on AI innovation, sharing insights on where investments in AI are heading and the potential for Bulgarian startups to lead the charge.

To close the session, Kristiana Kuneva of The Recursive presented a detailed AI report, further solidifying CEE’s position as a major player in the European AI landscape.

The Bulgarian delegation, with its innovative spirit and impressive AI advancements, left a lasting impression on the international audience during the first day at Bits & Pretzels.

Bulgaria will officially have eight speakers at one of Europe's most significant tech events-Bits & Pretzels in Munich. Alongside the exceptional Lubomila Jordanova, a leading figure in global innovation forums, are Petar Dimov, Konstantin Bezuhanov, Todor Todoroff, Gantchev, Philip Balkanski, Kristiana Kuneva, and Teodor Antonio Georgiev.

This will mark Bulgaria's most extensive presence at the event yet, showcasing startups, scale-ups, established companies, IT service providers, and a VC fund, representing the entire entrepreneurial spectrum.

Big news for Bulgaria’s tech ecosystem: Sofia ranks first for female startup founders in DEEP Ecosystems’ 2024 Startup City Signals Report for the second quarter of 2024.

The report indicates that the percentage of women who founded companies in Sofia amounts to 25.40%

The hottest topic among European communities remains , followed by Creative & Culture and . Largest number of job openings is within the AI & Data sector, followed by Health & and .

Biotechnology, Software and Information Technology are respectively the top industries with largest . We are excited to see Sofia leading a ranking of this level, especially in regards to support for female .

Female founders are at the core of ’ mission - their creativity, dedication and persistence is what’s boosting Bulgaria’s potential in the long run!

As we look towards the future, it’s important to reflect on what we’ve achieved so far. After participating in seven remarkable events - Zero One Hundred Conferences, Tech.eu Summit, Viva Technology, Reflect Festival, Vienna UP, health.tech conference, and WMF - We Make Future - it's time for to take a well-deserved summer break and recharge for the upcoming conferences in Q3 and Q4.

It was truly inspiring to witness the final of the startup competition, where Barin Sports stood out among 5,000 startups from over 100 countries to make it to the last 6. Their presentation was outstanding, showcasing the incredible potential of using real-time data to predict and prevent sports injuries. 🏃‍♂️📊
