BABC is the first organization established in Bulgaria that provides a direct platform and network for Australian, New Zealand and Bulgarian companies and individuals. Join us and become part of a wide business network to exchange useful information and find new business opportunities and partners. The Council's activities include high-level briefings on relevant issues of concern, assistance with practical trade and policy challenges, relationship-building opportunities, and informative seminars. We convene dialogues, advocate on key issues, and raise awareness about the unique relationship between Australia, New Zealand and Bulgaria.

Today, 6 September, we celebrate one of the defining moments in Bulgaria’s modern history — the Unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia in 1885.

The Unification remains a powerful symbol of national unity, determination and the ability to pursue a common vision.

On this important day, the Bulgarian-Australian Business Council (BABC) extends its warmest wishes to all Bulgarians in Bulgaria, Australia and around the world.

May the spirit of unity continue to inspire us to build stronger communities, meaningful partnerships and lasting bridges between Bulgaria and Australia.

If the EU–Australia FTA entered into force tomorrow, would your company know how to use it?

Which opportunities would matter for your business?
What would change for market access, exports, partnerships or investment?
And what should companies be doing now, before the agreement enters into force?

These are exactly the questions we will address at the EU–Australia FTA Business Forum in Sofia on 7 October 2026.
The forum will bring together Australian and Bulgarian government representatives, business leaders and experts for a practical discussion around four key areas:
• Clean Energy, Critical Raw Materials & Industrial Decarbonisation
• Digital Trade, ICT, AI & Technology Services
• Advanced Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals & Medical Technology
• Agrifood, Agricultural Inputs & Premium Products

Our focus is not simply on explaining the FTA, but on translating it into real business opportunities, practical preparation and new connections between Bulgarian and Australian companies.

Registration is now open for the EU–Australia FTA Business Forum in Sofia.

On 7 October 2026, business leaders, government representatives, trade organisations and academia will come together at Sofia University to discuss what the EU–Australia Free Trade Agreement could mean in practical terms for Bulgarian and Australian businesses.

The forum will focus on how companies can prepare now for the opportunities that will emerge once the agreement enters into force — from market access and investment to technology, energy, critical raw materials, advanced manufacturing and agrifood.

Tonight, Bulgaria made history. 🇧🇬

For the very first time, Bulgaria has won the Eurovision Song Contest — and what a victory it was. DARA brought energy, emotion, courage and unmistakable Bulgarian spirit to the Eurovision stage with “Bangaranga”, making all Bulgarians around the world proud.

Eurovision has always been more than music. It is about identity, culture, creativity and connection between nations. This year, Bulgaria showed Europe — and the world — that talent from a small country can create a huge impact.

Congratulations to DARA, the entire Bulgarian team, and everyone who believed this moment was possible. 🇧🇬

And what a beautiful Top 5 this was — Bulgaria, Israel, Romania, Australia and Italy — proving once again that music has no borders. Special respect as well to Australia, a country on the other side of the world that continues to bring passion, quality and heart to Eurovision year after year. 🇦🇺❤️

Tonight was not Bulgaria vs Australia or Bulgaria vs the others.
Tonight was Bulgaria with Europe. Bulgaria with the world.

From Vienna to Sofia — this victory will inspire a whole new generation to dream bigger, create boldly and believe that impossible things can happen.

Wonderful and very productive day with the ABIE Network in Frankfurt today!

Long awaited… and finally here. 🎉

The EU–Australia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) has now been officially signed — a major step forward in strengthening ties between Australia and Europe.

This is more than just a trade deal. It opens the door to new opportunities in energy, innovation, technology, and investment, and creates the foundation for deeper business collaboration.

While the agreement still needs to be ratified, the direction is clear — and the time to start preparing is now.

At BABC, we see strong potential for new partnerships and look forward to supporting our members in navigating these opportunities.
