IFSPD Europe Activity Highlights 2009–2014

IFSPD Europe is an international non-governmental initiative focused on promoting sustainable peace, development, and cross-border cooperation, particularly across regions historically connected to the Black Sea and Caspian Sea areas.

The organisation works to bring together leaders from government, civil society, academia, and business to encourage dialogue and collaboration on issues such as conflict prevention, sustainable economic development, education, and institutional capacity building. Its approach typically emphasises long-term stability through partnerships, policy dialogue, and knowledge exchange rather than short-term interventions.

IFSPD Europe has members from over 50 countries and holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It was established as an initiative by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Romania at the time. It was formerly known as the Black Sea–Caspian Sea International Fund (BSCSIF).
