🗳️ Election Day at the Youth Assembly
One of the most important moments of the Assembly was the election of our new Coordination Committee for the next two years!

We are happy to announce our newly elected team:
🔹 Chair – Steli (Bulgarian Red Cross)
🔸 Members – Fabio (Italian RC), Ani (Armenian RC), Maartje (Netherlands RC) & Maksym (Ukrainian RC)

Together, we are starting a new chapter, with priorities, teamwork and a strong commitment to youth engagement across our region. The work begins now! ✨

Our Assembly started with a powerful day dedicated to Humanitarian Diplomacy, where our delegates explored how to advocate, negotiate and represent humanitarian values in complex contexts. 🫶🏻

We started the day with an opening session and inspiring guest speakers, followed by a panel interview that helped us dive deeper into the foundations of humanitarian diplomacy. Later, we experienced a full role-play simulation, stepping into real-life diplomatic scenarios and applying what we learned in practice. The day also gave us the chance to connect with participants from across the region for the very first time, a great beginning to our shared journey 🚀

💬 This day reminded us that youth are not just participants, we are actors in humanitarian diplomacy.

✨ Two months ago… we gathered in Sofia for the ECAYN Youth Assembly, a milestone moment for youth engagement in our region! 🇧🇬❤️

More than just a meeting, this was four days of collaboration, learning and youth leadership in action.

🧠 We learned and we grew:
▪️ Humanitarian Diplomacy training & role-play simulation
▪️ Futures Thinking & Polycrisis workshop
▪️ IFRC Youth Policy review & best practices exchange
▪️ Objectives & key actions workshops

⚖️ We shaped the future of ECAYN:
✔️ We fully reviewed and revised the Terms of Reference
✔️ The Rules of Procedure are now officially merged into the same document
✔️ We held elections for the new Coordination Committee
✔️ We adopted the Sofia Declaration, our collective commitment for stronger youth participation and humanitarian action

We also did International Flea Market where every National Society shared a piece of their culture 🎶🌍

World Humanitarian Day 2025 ✨🌍

Today, we stand with humanitarians everywhere, volunteers and staff who show courage, solidarity, and humanity in the face of crises. ❤️

But the truth is: needs are rising, funding is falling, and attacks on humanitarians are at record highs. Violence against aid workers must stop. 🚨

This , we join the global call to and echo IFRC’s campaign. Together, as young people of the Red Cross Red Crescent, we raise our voices for dignity, safety, and respect for every humanitarian.
