“ALTER Network” is a Bulgarian non-governmental organization that provides educational opportunities for young people from all over Europe.

“ALTER Network” is a Bulgarian NGO that provides educational opportunities for young people across Europe and applies art-based methods in personal development, learning and business growth. What we do is create professional development opportunities for youth workers, educators and youth leaders on how to design a learning experience. We support youth workers and educators to develop engaging, playful and inclusive classes and workshops that create impact.

🌿✨ Day 8 | “The Roots of My Voice 2” – Closing ✨🌿

Every journey eventually comes to an end… but the best ones leave you wondering: What comes next? 🤔

✨ On our final day we took a moment to look back at everything we had experienced, learned, shared, and created together.

✨ The day was dedicated to reflection, next steps, and closing the journey. Participants had the opportunity to think about how they can carry the lessons from the project into their everyday lives—how to keep listening, telling their stories, connecting with others, and staying curious about their own personal journeys.

✨ We also explored the opportunities that can come after a youth exchange: new Erasmus+ projects, international collaborations, volunteering, local initiatives, and ways to remain connected with the people and communities we have become part of.

✨ The stories we shared, the people we met, the connections we created, and the things we discovered about ourselves can continue long after we leave.

🌿✨ Day 7 | “The Roots of My Voice 2” ✨🌿

From personal stories to the stage. 🎭

✨ After spending the past days listening, reflecting, exploring the Hero’s Journey, crafting stories, and sharing real experiences through our Living Library, Day 7 was all about bringing those stories to life.

✨ Participants worked in groups to create their own short performances, combining creativity, teamwork, storytelling, and improvisation. But there was one special challenge: each group had to include characters, inspired by the stories shared during the Living Library. This meant taking real people, real experiences, and real emotions—and transforming them into something new through collective imagination.

🎭 Characters were reimagined.
🌿 Stories were transformed.
✨ Different perspectives came together.
🤝 And individual experiences became shared creations.

✨ The process was not only about creating a performance. It was about listening carefully to someone else's story, understanding it, respecting it, and finding a creative way to carry it forward.

✨ What started as individual stories became something bigger—a collection of shared narratives shaped by the whole group.

🌿✨ Day 5 & 6 | “The Roots of My Voice 2” ✨🌿

🌿 Day 5 was dedicated to a field trip to Stara Zagora, giving everyone the opportunity to experience the city through curiosity, conversation, and genuine human encounters. Rather than simply visiting local landmarks, participants were encouraged to engage with the people around them, discover local traditions, and create authentic moments of intercultural exchange.
✨ Every conversation became a story.
✨ Every smile became a connection.
✨ Every encounter became a reminder that understanding another culture starts with meeting the people who live it.

🌿 Day 6 was the day when stories truly came to life. After days of reflection, listening, exploring, and crafting, our participants were finally ready to share their stories with the world.
✨ The morning began with a creative activity as everyone designed the cover of their own story—a visual representation of the journey they had been discovering throughout the project.
✨ In the afternoon, we opened the doors to our "Living Library". One by one, they shared their personal stories, life experiences, challenges, and moments of transformation in an intimate and supportive environment.

💚 Those two days reminded us that every person is a living book—and when we take the time to listen, we discover stories that can change the way we see the world.

🌿✨ Day 4 | “The Roots of My Voice 2” ✨🌿

Every unforgettable story has something in common—it makes us feel. 🫶
Our participants took the next step in their storytelling journey by discovering what transforms a simple sequence of events into a meaningful and engaging story. ✎

✨ Throughout the morning, we explored the essential building blocks of storytelling—how to create compelling characters, meaningful conflict, emotional depth, and authentic transformation. Participants learned that every powerful story has a purpose, and every storyteller has the ability to inspire others through their own experiences.

✨ One of the key moments of the day was the introduction of the "Victim–Accountable Chart" - a practical tool that helps us recognize the difference between telling stories from a place of limitation and telling them from a place of responsibility, growth, and empowerment. Through reflection and discussion, participants explored how changing our perspective can completely transform the way we understand—and share—our own life experiences.

We discovered that the stories we tell ourselves shape the lives we live. 🫆

🌿✨ Day 3 | “The Roots of My Voice 2” ✨🌿

Every hero has a story. Every story begins with a call to adventure. 🦸

✨ On the third day, participants explored one of the most powerful storytelling frameworks ever created—the "Hero's Journey". Through myths, legends, and fairy tales from different cultures, we discovered that although our stories may be different, the journeys we experience are often surprisingly similar.

✨ Throughout the day, participants learned how timeless archetypes, symbols, and mythical narratives can help us better understand our own experiences. Together, we explored the stages of the Hero's Journey and reflected on the challenges, mentors, transformations, and victories that shape our lives.

✨ The afternoon brought these ideas to life through improvised storytelling. Working together, participants created spontaneous stories, embodied unforgettable characters, and transformed simple ideas into imaginative adventures. The room quickly filled with creativity, laughter, unexpected twists, and inspiring moments of collaboration.

We discovered that stories don't have to be perfect—they only need to be authentic. 🗣️

🌿✨ Day 2 | “The Roots of My Voice 2” ✨🌿

Every meaningful story begins with one simple act: listening 👂

On the second day we slowed down and shifted our focus inward. Before learning how to tell powerful stories, we first explored what it truly means to listen—to ourselves, to one another, and to the world around us. 🫶

✨ The morning was dedicated to a series of listening practices that invited participants to be fully present, embrace silence, and experience communication beyond words to create more meaningful conversations and supportive community.

✨ In the afternoon, participants reflected on their own life journeys by mapping the experiences, challenges, turning points, and moments that have shaped who they are today. It was a powerful reminder that every person carries a unique story—one worth hearing and worth sharing.

🌱 Storytelling starts long before we speak. It begins with observing, feeling, remembering, and listening.

🌿✨ Day 1 | “The Roots of My Voice 2” ✨🌿

💚 Every great story starts with a single step... and ours already started.

The first day was all about landing, connecting, and saying “yes” to the adventure.

✨ We met our fellow participants, discovered what this journey is all about, and set the intentions for the week ahead. Expectations, dreams, excitement, and maybe a few butterflies in our stomachs—all became part of the conversation.

✨ Then came our first challenge: “Mission Impossible”. 🚀
With no time to overthink, participants had to collaborate, communicate, solve problems, and trust people they had only just met. What started as a room full of strangers quickly turned into a room full of laughter, teamwork, and shared victories.

✨ We finished the day by reflecting on our needs and co-creating the kind of space we all want to be part of—one built on trust, respect, curiosity, and courage.

What is ahead? Seven unforgetable days. Countless stories. One journey back to our authentic voice.

And the journey begins...

We are excited to officially launch our latest international youth exchange, funded by the Erasmus+ programme and a continuation from the previous edition last year. The project will bring together young people from across Europe for an inspiring journey of storytelling, self-discovery, cultural exchange, and connection with nature. 🌳

We are delighted to be working once again alongside our trusted international partners, whose dedication, professionalism, and shared values continue to make these learning experiences possible. ❤️

This project is particularly meaningful for us, as it marks the final yearly activity within our Erasmus+ Youth Accreditation cycle. Reaching this milestone fills us with pride and gratitude. Over the past years, our accreditation has allowed us to create numerous opportunities for learning, creativity, international cooperation, and personal development for hundreds of people across Europe. Big appreciation for the support of our National Agency (HRDC) and Erasmus +. 🤝

✨ Day 5 of “8 Paths to Connection 2” ✨

We embraced spontaneity, creativity, and the courage to step into the unknown through the world of Improvisation. 🙋‍♂️
We focused on different Improv Methods, exploring how theater improvisation can help us build confidence, trust, emotional awareness, and authentic human connection. 🙆‍♀️

🎯 Focus of Day 5: **Improvisation (Improv Methods)**

🎭 Throughout the day, participants explored:
• Acceptance and reacting in the moment
• Spontaneity and creative thinking
• Commitment to ideas and characters
• Group improvisation and ensemble work
• Risk-taking and leaving the comfort zone
• Emotional range and expression

Through games, playfulnes, unexpected situations, and collective storytelling, the group learned to trust both themselves and each other. Participants discovered that improvisation is not about being perfect — it is about being present, listening, and saying “yes” to the moment. 🧩

The room was full of laughter, energy, imagination, and genuine connection — reminding us how powerful play and spontaneity can be. 🧡
